LOL yeah, its easier than having to deal with people who want their dog 'spaded' or 'nawtied' (i have only ever head that one once! fantastic tho!)

U call it desexing in australia? We call it spaying/neutering in america, but I suppose it is the same thing. I guess we just have people that couldn't understand that this is still a boy dog and this is still a girl dog...

I would have kept her in an instant, but even after 3 days of feeding and plaaying with her a bit, i'm knackered.
She is way too energetic for me right now... plus, i really do believe that she is just a runaway. The collar is expensive, there is a desexing scar, and it seems she has had a monthly flea treatment.
The first time i saw her, she was in great nick, thats why i didnt race after her up the street, i thought she belonged to the construction workers across the road... she didnt look like a stray at all.

Plus, i dont think we could afford to feed her, and we are renting and not supposed to have pets... and she would be very hard to hide!
And the kitties werent too impressed....

I kinda miss her already tho

This dog came around my house about a month ago (on my birthday) and was barking at something. I bolted out, but i couldnt see what it was barking at. There were some workmen across the street, and i thought she belonged to them, so i wasnt overly concerned.

I felt awful yesterday when i almost hit her running across the road. I recognised the collar straight away.

the dog itself looks very very different tho. She was sort of labrador-build before... now she is dobie-greyhound thin

I managed to call her over and get her in the backyard, and i called the pound today to come get her (its a no-kill) She is currently in the backyard, having a snooze in the sun

I would adopt her in a flash if I could - of course I'm not in Sydney and I'm renting anyway (plus the cat would never let me ). But she's just gorgeous isn't she?

I agree with Calla though, shelters are really quite good over here. They are too crowded of course but they look after the animals as best as they can.

That poor dog! She is WAY too thin! What is up with people? She has a collar on! Gads! I have several strays that I feed -- our shelter is not a 'no kill' unfortunately.

I might be going out on a limb, but I don't think she is supposed to look like that. I hope the pounds in aussieland aren't like the ones in the US... Even if they are no kill, they still get fed poorly and live in cramp spaces, etc. Good luck to her.
