Weee! So pretty! I love daffies... they're so cheerful.

Was just on the Chicago Sky Way on Friday and it was such a nice touch... right when we're waiting in line for the dang tollbooth, there were all these lovely daffodils growing in the median... yellows and whites and so cheerful and happy!

Yay for daffodils.

Aren't they just one of the most cheerful flowers you can imagine kitten? My mom lives on 9 ½ acres, and because of my love of daffodils, every year we buy hundreds more bulbs in EVERY fathomable color possible. We have even done an entire hillside in daffodils. I really like most bulb plants, so this year for my anniversary, one of the ones she got me was Stargazer Lilies. Amongst the rest of the bulbs at her house, we have bought iris in about any color you can find, any lovely tulips we come across, crocus and snowdrops, lilies, narcissus, etc. I think my love of gardening in general is what has drawn me so deeply to live plants in the aquarium.

Lucky Stormy... I love gardens, but I refuse to garden anymore because no matter what I do, my mother interferes! "My" garden is stuffed with hostas now, and I HATE hostas. My mom always sticks her nose into whatever I'm doing (can't cook without her trying to "fix" things or stir things or generally get in my way).

I think she'll be surprised when I move out and have a decent garden... MY way. She thinks I despise gardening... I despise her getting in my way. You're so lucky to have a mom who gives you pretty flowers and lets you do things your way!

*kitty frolics through hill of daffies!*

Oh kitty, I would agree with you that I am lucky when it comes to the garden! We have a MASSIVE vegetable garden, flower gardens EVERYWHERE, and wooded area where we have added flowers in as well. We even terraced off an entire hill in the yard to have just massive steps of flowers going down it! THAT was some SERIOUS work. When everything goes into full bloom this summer I will show you some of our flowers! I got some pics of the one hillside of daffodils yesterday while I was there. The best part is, it is not like I am just helping to plant up her yard because she wants me to eventually move back to the property and have another house built on to it halfway back in the one field. They are also talking about buying up the property that comes right up against ours, and if they do that, then we will have a total of around 30 acres. Maybe one day kitten, you will have to come and see it all for yourself. My ex lives in Chicago and comes back here from time to time for a visit.

Stormy Thank you for sharing that bouquet with us!!! made me smile.

I love the idea of adding more bulbs every year. When I get my own patch of dirt I am going to do just like you with the bulbs!!!!

Can you post a pic of then when they are in flower?

I am moving into an apartment soon and have some citrus in big pots going great guns all ready for my balcony. Living in an apartment won't stop me from gardening! Love it too much...

Awww... so happy I could make you smile with the pics! I do more macro shots than anything, but I did take a pic of a patch of crocus the other day, and I did take a pic yesterday of SOME of the daffodils on the one hill. LOADS more to come, but I will definitely show you some pics of my flowers!
