Last night my schnauzer who normally goes bonkers when she sees a ghecko lizard on the wall, noticed the royal whiptails in my 3ft tank.

At night the whippies like to wriggle along the front of the glass (like lizards)and my schnauzer saw them do it. She put her feet up on the 3ft tank but I growled at her and she jumped down quick. The trouble is now she is just sitting and looking at the fish on a hair trigger like she wants to jump up again.

When I went to bed, I put a towel across the front of the tank so she couldn't see the fish and I turned the lights out.

I hope this is a passing fad.

Uh-oh. She is on alert. Interesting, endearing and alarming all at once.

Hope finds your disapproval deterrent enough.

Ha, next day and she has completely forgotten about the tempting wiggley fish in the tank.
Lets hope she doesn't look up and notice them again any time soon. Forty-four pounds of dog jumping at the glass of a 3ft fish tank on a pine stand could be filled with disaster.

Our golden retriever jumps on our big tank too. There's a bunch of scratches in the acrylic His favorite group of fish to jump at are catfish. We think he frightened the BN we had to death.

Ok, Schmiegen has decided she is an aquarist. She does not jump at the tanks any longer but she checks on and sits in front of the tanks quite often.
While feeding and doing WC she is beside me and taking an interest in it all and she doesn't mind the taste of algae wafers either.

hehehe - my oriental cat loves algae wafers too - he sits on command for them. interestingly, he's never taken an interest in the tank at all, sleeps on the lighthood all day - gotta love a cat that thinks he's a dog
