Hi all!
Just thought I'd share some pictures we took at the National Zoo (Washington, DC) yesterday.
Enjoy!

The best part of that zoo was the Amazon exhibit. When I went there (about two years ago), the zoo was a mess. There were rats everywhere and the animals didn't seem to be very well cared-for. It may have changed since then, but I doubt it.

We didn't see any rats, lots of baby strollers, but no rats! Actually, there was quite a controversy about the level of care and even some of the caretakers, but I believe most of the problems have been taken care of, or at least or in the process right now. The animals all looked healthy and the exhibits seemed in good condition! They're even building new exhibits and replacing roofs on old ones.

nice pics
Superlion - they take better care of the zoo in the warmer months. Every winter I have gone down, it seems as if the exhibits are not maintained well; it was a bit nicer when I went last summer. I live so close to the place I should go more often.

I haven't been to the national zoo in ages. I wish to go down there some time soon to see their Amazon exhibit. Those stingrays and arapaima....
