I have never had the following but have always wanted:

Khuli loaches
Frontosa
Yabbies
Panda cories

I haven't always had a set up compatible with the aqua friends I am interested in keeping.

What about you?

What is on your "one day list"

I've always wanted:

Betta albimarginata -can't find any at a price I can afford.
Black Ghost Knife
Boesemani Rainbow
Threadfin Rainbow
Glass Catfish
Chaca chaca
Blue Dempsey
Licorice Gourami

Just saw in a store and want now:
Blue ribbon eel- http://www.divetrip.com/phot0601a.htm
Apparently they don't do well in aquariums, so I'll never get one.

There's more...I know

My "one day" want list:

*awesome Malawi set-up
*shellies (that tank may be happening soon)
*a salt tank with some of those colorful salty fish....I'm blown away by Mandarins, but they seem very difficult. I like Nemo too.
*that Christmas fulu cichlid from Lake Victoria that Cali linked in another thread...

Sparkling gouramis
Flag cichlids
Nannacara anomala (would have gotten one for one of the 10s recently, but Mom reminded me I might want to move my tanks cross-country around the next time I'd be home to see them anyway)
a school of congo tetras

Cuttlefish with an appropriate tank would be my dream tank. I have read about their needs, and I would have to jump up a few tax brackets to accomplish this, though.

I also like many freshwater large species, I would love to have the tank to provide for a full grown clown knife. I think an indoor pond with some type of fresh water sting ray would be great, or blue or red arrowana.

What a tough question. Even after 35 years in the hobby there are so many different species/set-ups I would like to have.

If we're not just limiting our wants to certain fish I think my first wish would be for a fish house then I would possibly have enough room to do what I would really like to do.

Same here OldTimer.

However, I cna break my lists into the following categories:

[1] Fish I Have Had And Want Again:

Anomalchromis thomasi
Beckford's Pencils (only this time not psychotic ones!)
Lemon Tetras
Corydoras habrosus

[2] New Species I Want To Keep:

Christmas Fulu Cichlids
Galaxy Rasboras
Benthochromis tricoti
Corydoras weitzmani
Corydoras duplicareus
Barbus gelius
Various Killies including Poropanchax species and Epiplatys annulatus
Neolebias ansorgei

[3] What I'd Want If I Could Afford Saltwater:

Centropyge Dwarf Angels - they are GORGEOUS!
Bryaninops natans Gobies - TINY fishes!
Royal Grammas
Fairy Basslets including that gorgeous Princess Anthias
Nemateleotris decora

[4] What I'd Want If Money Was No object:

Paracentropyge boylei
My Own Aquatic Zoo!

Think that covers the bases for the moment, though doubtless I'll add species to that list in due course
