the canadian falls are so much nicer than the american, no offence

anyhow, there's that whole street with the horror house and stuff and like arcades, etc, gift shops, if i remember correctly from a high school trip

it'd take me 1.5-2 hour drive

i'll defintely think about it

Very nice post tryst! I felt like I was reading an advertisement! You should consider marketing. Yeppers, so what tryst said! LOL! I do have to agree with her about the Canadian side being better! I NEVER spend any time on the American side of the Falls when I go. Also, anyone who might know of any great LFS in the Buffalo area, I would not mind hitting those on my way home. Chances are I will be doing what I normally do... going up, spending the day, staying the night, and coming back the next day. Hope we can get a good group together for this... we tried to leave PLENTY of time for everyone to plan around and put it into their schedules.

We don't have any dates yet....just "summer"....

I thought it would be better if we could see who is interested first and come to a date that works best for everyone. We (Stormy and I) wanted to post early so there's lots of time for planning.

YAYYYY moondog might come oh and fae too but I talked to her on msn

Just to add too... if there are any people in southern Ohio or something who do not want to drive that whole way, they could drive as far as me and I would drive the rest of the way. Just an offer to possibly help lessen the driving load for some. Just keep in mind... I am planning an overnighter most likely.

Just to be clear, my car fits 4 comfortabley, 5 not so comfortabley (that includes me). LOL!

Racso and I will do everything in our power to be there Perhaps Marc, Jason and Kendra would like to tag along as well.

Could we make it a weekend thing rather than just a day? Just throwing an idea out there.

Stormy and I were talking in chat about Niagara Falls because she said she goes there a few times a year, and I only live about 45 minutes or an hour away. So, we were going to plan a get together for the summer when the weather gets warm, Niagara Falls is a good place for it because there are a lot of attractions and things around. Plus the falls are absolutely beautiful!

Niagara Falls is also a good place to meet because it is easily accessible by public transportation (buses!) thanks to the casino there. :88)

So is there anyone else that would be up for a Niagara Falls trip? Here's a map if anyone isn't really sure where it is... right near Buffalo. The view of the falls *IS* better from the Canadian side of the border so I hope that isn't an issue for anyone. There are also better attractions on the Canadian side IMO, I have been there many many times.

We'll have to discuss a few ideas for what sorts of things we want to do for the day/afternoon. Stormy had suggested we meet for lunch and visit an LFS or the butterfly conservatory....we can sort all that out later.

Ok so anyway......if anyone else would be willing to make the trip and meet up with us for the day/afternoon, let us know. AFAIK there are quite a few people within just a few hours of there so it seems like a good spot. The falls are really really gorgeous if you haven't seen them!!! The fireworks shows in the summer are amazing too! Maybe we can arrange to meet on a fireworks evening.

Someone asked for a great fish store in the Buffalo area ... well, it has the BEST one. The Fish Place, in North Tonawanda, at 141 N. Robinson St. But don't go! You'll be spoiled terribly, and never want to visit another LFS again.

BTW, you're all right, the Canadian side is much better.

LOL@Mouse! I suppose if it is too good I will just have to make trips there EVERY time I go to the Falls! LOL! Thanks! I was hoping someone would know of a good place. I knew there HAD to be one in such a big place! Thanks again!

I am SO happy that there is some interest in this! On the Canadian side of the Falls there is an Econolodge at the top of Clifton Hill (the main street in the area), and just off on a side street. I stay there EVERY time I go! I am not 100% sure of the summer rates, but when I usually go in the spring it is around $40 US a night. That is for a room with two double beds. I am sure we could probably get a group rate too. Oh, and they have a little indoor pool as well. If more people are interested in camping, then we can look into that as well. Maybe as time comes closer and we know how many people are going to be going we can take some sort of a vote... hotel, camping, or split the group...

Hmmm rained until the last day I was there last time....and it'd probably only cost me like $15 in gas money....I should add for those that dont know that I'll be coming up from washington DC if people might need rides ect...

I'm interested. A road trip to the maritimes with a stop over in Toronto and Niagra Falls?? Sure!

While interested, I can't put any sort of commitment down. I'll be overseas for at least 6 weeks sometime during the summer, and I don't know when yet.

Plus, it's one long road trip.
