well sirbooks' idea is much better than tim's plan of calling and reporting me ....

getting me into chat would be easy...prove that chat won't allow anyone to hack into our system or whathave you....our IT person believes it's a security issue

It was a interesting year is all I can say .

*wants to know how thing 1 and thing 2 are, and how the bot's doing, and if tim's feeling any better, and what adventures john has had, and, and, and, andddddddddddd.

maybe Adam can shed some light on the security issues regarding chat, but it seems to me that if chat was such a security issue, then people could get in on your http port no matter *what* you're doing. otherwise you couldn't surf the web in general because of "security" reasons

Chats that install java applets on your system can be classed as a security risk.

The chatroom I wrote is just a stipped down version of the forums that refreshes everytime a new message is posted.

Accessing the FishProfiles chatroom is no more of a securityrisk than visiting the forums.

Thank you ADAM I knew it was safe!

Now I hope I can explain it to our IT person

Maybe you could explain the Java applets to your IT department, but not sure if that would convince Management whether they were getting Value For Money from their employee or not!!

speaking of value for money, it might be best for them to *NOT* let babel back onto chat

uh huh ...

so it's more productive for me to sit around twiddleing my thumbs getting annoyed and with no place to vent while I sit and babysit a red line

than it is for me to be happily multitasking while babysitting that red line......I must say ...this mornings back to back sessions gave me plenty of time to work on my nails...
