But that's about all I know.

Anyone have ideas on who these guys might be? Spotted them at minyon falls in NSW inland from Brunswick heads.

Also spotted this little buggy wandering around among the moss.

Your buggy seems to be a ladybird of the trible Chilocorini. Can't pin down a species for you.

Still looking for frog.

I have no idea what species of frog that is, but it's pretty!

Try having a look through the database at http://www.frogsaustralia.net.au/frogs/ for identification.

Good luck

I've been through a couple of databases, and I think the frog may belong to either the genus Litoria or the genus Pseudophryne. I can't find pictures detailed enough to compare with yours.

Thanks for the site troppo, and thanks for the direction joe

Seems the pics are all really rather small .

Figured the beetle was a ladybird, seemed very similar to my other one. As for the frogs, they were just in the rock area, so that may (or may not) rule out tree frogs.

Course Adam tried his very hardest to help ID it. Said it wasn't a cane toad, must be a gum tree

Follow the links to Myobatrachidae Pseudophryne coriacea Red-backed Toadlet here: nsw.gov.au/Biodiversity/Frogs.aspx" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">frogs
So it is a toad but not a nasty cane toad.

I dunno about that; those beautiful fringed feet and the notable eardrum suggests hylidae to me, but I'm not a "herper", really.

If you want a guaranteed ID on the frog, speak to Andrew at http://www.pollywog.co.uk, he'll know for sure... guaranteed. Can't beat a good frog-geek, haha.

Red backed toadlet looks most likely on colouring and very general shape, but I can't find a piccie with a good shot of the feet.

Heehee So glad people know what living things in Oz are other than simply naming them a gum tree!

Okay, here's one that landed on me while we were at the lighthouse at byron bay. It landed on my leg and unfortunately this is about the best photo Adam could get.

The green isn't as bright in the photo as it was IRL. It was honestly fluorescent.

Ahhh! they are really common (for a weird beetle) and I have no idea what they are called! They are a scarab type I think, and stunning IRL. Will keep looking.

Well, since I've been spending weeks working putting all the photos together, I finally managed to track this guy down.

From what I've read it seems that it's not common up this way, which explains why I was so blown away by it.

I give you the Fiddler Beetle!!!

(I'm sure you were were all holding your breaths on that)
