Yay! Budgie!

Budgies are FUN!

Difficult to tell at this age, but this one might be male. The part above the beak (the cere) is the tell tale feature - in males, it's blue, whilst in females it's brown. However, this feature only manifests itself once the budgie is more than about 16 weeks old. With a very young budgie, the cere is still a whitish pink colour and doesn't differentiate before around 16 weeks.

If it's a male, it'll be more likely to talk. I had one a few years back and its vocabulary included "Little Peter", "Happy Bird" and "Bad Boy". It also used to be able to say "Squawk" as a word ...

Aww! they aren't that loud

Very pretty! I love that colour combo, and the more natural type. Some of those blue show budgies look like they've been chowing down on birdie growth seed

Budgies are quiet compared to some members of the parrot family.

If you want LOUD, try a Moluccan Cockatoo ... recorded as being as loud as a 747 on takeoff

Yeah, I thought the cockatiel I used to have was loud... now I have a green-cheeked conure! (and have been around screaming cockatoos...)
