Racso Mega Fish Some Assembly Required Posts: 1163 Kudos: 1442 Votes: 35 Registered: 19-Feb-2002 | That right, many popular brands of Dog and Cat food have been recalled due to being harmful to pets. According to some sites, one dog and nine cats have died due to a contamination in the foods. I looked over the list and ironically, the brands are all average at best quality wise. There are also a few other brands that aren't listed by menufoods for a recall but since they use that manufacturer are recalling their foods anyway for safety reasons. You should check the main site for your brand of food to see if they have decided to recall any of their food or not. If your dog won't eat dry there's a newly started list of safe canned/wet food here: http://www.prodoggroomingsupplies.com/dog-forums/showthread.php?t=32463 |

Fortunately the dates weren't among the recalled ones, close though. I think I may just chuck them out to be safe. I wouldn't want anything to happen to my precious wild little boys. It was sitting on a pallet in the backroom but due to typical lack of communication it was re-stocked the next day ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

I was saving a can of Special Kitty for him, but I'll throw it out now. Inky |

Just a caution this stuff is in most of the food human eat as will and it is not regulated here in the US. There are two types one for animal use and human use, but that is just a label the manufacturer put on the box. It is the same stuff. Being a vegetarian me and wife have checked are products Boca, Morning Star and it is in all of it. I'm not trying to cause a panic or anything just thought you all should be aware. At least now if your animals get sick you know what to tell the vet. This was reported Dateline last night 3/23/07 or you can go to CNN.com the complete story is on their web page, Front and Center. They say it was from the rat poison used in the fields. DjRichie "Don't Panic" Djrichie "So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish" Douglas Adams |
