crazyred Fish Addict LAZY and I don't care :D Posts: 575 Kudos: 360 Votes: 293 Registered: 26-Aug-2005 | I keep forgetting! It's finally Friday and I don't have to be to work tomorrow... I'll get in the yard tonight (after some yard work ) and show y'all what grows in the tropics of South Texas. My hibiscus blooms year round, I have a grapefruit tree that passed the flowering stage in January/February and should have baby grapefruit that will be huge and ready to pic by December. I'll also post my monga pepper plants.....we grow 'em hot down here!! "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

These are the Rio Star variety of red grapefruit....grown specifically here in the Rio Grande Valley. They are sweeter and have more lycopene in them than the standard Ruby Red. I can change the batteries in my crummy camera and have some bigger pics for you later. I took a pic of the whole grapefruit tree, but it looks like a miniature plant in the small pic. I don't think I'll bother showing photos of my garden right now - it looked much nicer BEFORE the drought . I have fantasies of making a big, drought-friendly succulent garden one day. But I do have a bunch of very nice flower pics, all taken when my house was absolutely full of them after I was injured last year. This is a bougenvilla bush that is actually rooted in my neighbors yard and is in the process of consuming our fence. "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

crazyred Fish Addict LAZY and I don't care :D Posts: 575 Kudos: 360 Votes: 293 Registered: 26-Aug-2005 | My habanero peppers that are WAY hotter than the hottest jalepenos....I have no idea what I'm going to do with them....I like hot stuff, but not that hot. On the left you can see one my jalepeno plants, and on the right sort of toward the back is my potted hibiscus that needs to be transplanted into the ground. These things bloom year round down here too. "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

poisonwaffle Mega Fish Posts: 1397 Kudos: 591 Registered: 11-Feb-2003 | Here's my pumpkin patch... They're the GIANT pumpkin variety. By Fall I should have 1-3 that weigh around half a ton (1000lb). Yer only supposed to grow one pumpkin per plant, and I've got 3, but I dunno if I've got enough space for 3 of them |
