Well thanks guys!
The popular vote has spoken, and I agree.
I am going to tell my mother-in-law that the FP'ers agree, Muffins a Chi!

Actually she has much more of a coat than that. I shaved her this summer because we moved onto a farm and she kept getting massively filthy. Her full coat hasnt come in yet.
That picture was taken over a month ago, and she has gotten more hair than that. She doesnt have the hair of a pom though, its silky soft and lays flat, and she has no undercoat at all to speak of.

I think what you have is a pom x chihuahua mix. Hardly any coat to speak of, and not apple-headed enough for a pure bred chi. Too leggy for a chi also. It is either a chiranian or a pomhuahua. Sorry about that. If the dog was sold as a pure bred with papers, report the breeder to the kennel club. Certainly unethical behavior for a breeder, which gives others a very bad reputation.

I agree, my mom has a chihuaha and a pomeranian. The chihuaha is a little nipping bas*#%@. The pom is very cute and cuddly, and very nice. It barks a little but doesn't nip at people.

[font color="#000080"]I have two poms, one pure bred and one pom/chi cross and i love them both. Benson (my pom/chi cross) does look similar to muffin except he has long pomeranian hair.

I'll have to say chihuaua because she has chihauha ears and eyes, but there could be a bit of pom in her aswell.

[font color="#800080"]Ok, now lets get this right. It stinks that I cant edit I tell you.
This is like a poll. We have a 2 year old dog Muffin, she was bought by my boyfriends mom in Ontario as a Purebred Pomeranian. We had doubts right away. Recently we discovered that the lady she bought Muffin from, also breeds long haired Chihuahas. I will post a couple of pics, and you can vote. She was only 250 bucks canadian, which is unusual as I have seen "cream" poms run over 1200 dollars. She weights 9.4 pounds, and is 16 inches long and 12 inches tall. She has a curly tail that is loosely curled and carried flat on her back and hanging over.

And for those who dont know the breed info, heres the breed standards and pics

Long Haired Chihuaha Info

So cast your vote:
A) Purebred Pom
B) Purebred Chihuaha
C) Chi-Pom/ Pom-Chi Cross

I already have this dog. She was bought as a gift for a 2 year old granddaughter, who didnt like dogs and was quite nasty with her and allowed to be, and was transferred against our (mine and my boyfriends) wills to the girls house. She came back to us only 3 months later because she was too bold and they couldnt be bothered to train her.
We took her when we moved from his moms house to our own place, and would never give her up.
As for maltese, my BFs mom has a malti-poo and he doesnt listen, is snappy, irritable, and barks NON STOP. I cant stand yappy yippy dogs.
Muffin rarely if ever barks, mostly she only growls if she hears a strange noise. She barks a single bark when she wants to come inside, that is all.
Hehe, she has a "toy box" and its quite cute to see her go halfway into the box to grab a toy. She has some imagination I tell you. She will even pull out like all her dozen toys and sleep with her favorite ones.
She wont sleep on our bed, only in hers except when she wants to cuddle, and she even asks us to open the bedroom door so she can go to her bed and sleep, and sometimes we get up and she sleeps in for hours after we get up!!
She has a very individual personality.

She has never once shown any aggression, not nippy, not snarky. She does not nip, bite, or bark. She is well behaved and well trained. She knows sit, lay down, stay, dont bark, sit pretty, shake a paw, and dont be rude (she turns away and faces the other way so as not to beg).
She is incredibly intelligent.

IMO, you have a chihuahua, and i'm never coming to visit, snarky little bitey things they are, i got an almighty bruise on my backside where one jumped up and bit me. never ever liked hem since... but she looks cute whatever she is.
