Hmm.

I am not surprised one bit.
I have kept up with reading of the Proheart Injections.
Formally working for Banfield, (The Pet Hospitals in PetSmarts), they would sing the praises of this product. Sadly, I saw too large of an increase in dogs getting sick from it with in minutes. We were always filling out vx incident reports.

Some what OT here, but I have a discrepancy with Banfield for that. And the fact that they started using it on dogs as young as 3 months of age, which was strictly against Fort Dodges (Proheart) policy, in their medication leaflet it states it's only for use in dogs 6 months and older.
Unfortunately Banfield decided to take the matter upon itself and use unknowing clients and their dogs to start using them as guine pigs and their poor young pups. I would not be surprised if this action, is part of what brought Proheart closer to being pulled.

This is an excellent example of why when I get out of vet school, I don't want to work for a large veterinary corporation.

Theres a lot to be said over Commercial Profit Vs. Best Health Interests of child, pet, patient etc.. it covers many many many products, and the truth is, particular details are kept from the consumers to ensure their loyalty.. and of course, ultimately their $$$$

there are reasons there are age restrictions
Its not like Fort Dodge didnt do extensive testing before it was released
