Puppy! | |
sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | After having 2 people interested in the puppies turn out to be thieves trying to scam them and do who knows what with the little ones the akita breeder decided that she's not giving away the remaining puppies to anyone she doesn't know or who lives too far away. They also decided they aren't having anymore litters because they can no longer deal with sending puppies off to unknown homes especially overseas. That means I don't get to pick a puppy out of the next litter but she saved me the last little girl puppy who is about 3 1/2months old. A little darker than I wanted being nearly black with only a few slightly lighter areas of brindle but I can't say I really care. So here's my puppy thread but pictures might have to wait until monday. I'm sort of homeless until the house I'm renting gets finished. It's gonna be at least a week possibly 2. |

I get a puppy! but not until august I hate being patient." Happiness is............... getting that puppy now! Congratulations sham! I'm not understanding that post very clearly? You have to wait till you move into the new house before you can take possession of that puppy? But still.......two weeks isn't very long..................unless you're waiting on a puppy. lol |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | My stepdad would freak out completely if I tried to keep a puppy at my mom's house so my mom said no. Actually her exact phrasing was "they've had it for 3months now they can keep it for a few more weeks". Obviously she's never had to wait to pick up a puppy. Considering I have nowhere else to sleep except my truck until the house is done that means I have nowhere to put a puppy. The wiring, plumbing, and dry wall repairs are all finished. Now we need to refinish the wood floors, lay vinyl on the rest, and paint everything. At least a week for that. |

Everyone is entitled to their own set of beliefs, but it makes it rough on people like you & me. I would want the puppy now too! lol Sleeping in your truck? I won't ask...........but I sure hope the rest of this year turns out better for you than what it's been so far! It does look like it's working toward that end though. So are you working on names yet, or will you have to have her for awhile before you decide on a name? |

This is currently residing in my dog crate: The mom is dead and all but 2 babies were killed by barn cats so guess who got nominated to try to take care of the survivors until they can go back in the wild. |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | Baby bunnies continue to sleep in the nest and stay around their mom for months after their eyes open. During that time they eat some of their mom's droppings. That gives them the bacteria needed to digest solid foods since they are born pretty much sterile with no bacteria to help digest. If they aren't given the good or needed bacteria during at least the few weeks after their eyes open then they develop severe diarhea and die. These little ones are right during that age so I have to inoculate them with good bacteria and show them what plants found outside are edible before turning them loose in the woods. |

My mom's dog scared her half to death at first and I had to carry her in the door but now she's running around trying to get him to play. Which makes it very difficult to take pictures that include more than just her back half. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v244/aqh88/puppy/ |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | Moving into the house probably friday. For now we're at my mom's. Her dog is just thrilled and won't stop whining and drooling all over the little one. The cats aren't quite so happy. She did run after Carmel but I don't think it was "catch the cat" so much as "hey it's running. I wanna run too." She came back right away when I yelled at her. However she did show that akitas do have a bit of attitude. I left her for the past few hours to go to class and after staring at the door my mom said she went back to my room and just laid there for 3hours chewing on her beef stick. When my mom went to get her she growled and wouldn't move. Unfortunately not being that good with dogs my mom just walked away. Then she wonders why none of our dogs ever listened to anyone. I don't care if she is nervous I'd have had her muzzle in my hand and the rest of her at least sideways on the floor for that. But I did purposely take on a dominant breed that some would label agressive. When I got home she bounced up, was wigglying head to tail, and ran outside to go potty as soon as I told her to. I'm thinking of naming her Azami. Much of her training is also in japanese so she knows suwari instead of sit, mate instead of stay.. etc Only helps to confuse my mom some more. |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | Puppy is an all day job by herself. She can go on 5 walks around the property(which is over a mile) and still wants to go again. She's now at full blown teething stage with all her baby teeth missing down both sides of her mouth and permanent teeth just coming in. Still nothing destroyed but she had her mouth around the corner of the dresser last night. There's probably more pics loaded on photobucket since I first posted but most are still on the camera since I haven't had time to load them. The house got delayed by the slowest painters I've ever seen. I could have had it done in 2days but my aunt really wanted professional painters to do it and after 3weeks they still have a room left to paint. Plus they've scattered their stuff through the whole house so I can't even move stuff into 1 room. |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | Nah my sister is the one with a soap opera for a life. Seriously does this sound like a tv show? Between the boyfriends she couldn't get rid of, being banned from seeing a guy that is 5years older than her and already has 3 girlfriends, dating her best friend since kindergarten, getting caught in bed with the foreign exchange student from Italy while dating her best friend since kindergarten, failed plans to run away to Italy cause he got back with his old girlfriend, and the current boyfriend who everyone claims is gay I'm always telling her we could just make her life into a several season series and be rich. My life is much tamer than that. |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | So innocent..... I learned something new today. Did you know when it rains even dried up horse manure turns back into a mushy, smelly, paste that perfectly stick to fur should something furry like say... a puppy... roll in it. It also requires 3 different times of shampooing and rinsing before the smell goes away. I think now she just smells like both shampoo and manure but the water in the bathtub stopped turning this greenish brown color and she'll probably just do it again tomorrow so I give up for tonight. |
