Alfredo, its terrible for you but so good. Just dont over do it and youll do fine. I cant see pesto mixing too well with shrimp, but tomato might do well depending on what it has in it. Just make sure your tomato sauce has huge chunks of tomato and mushrrom slices

I guess I lied when they said they don't have pesto here. They do, but pretty much just for pizzas. I am working on a secret recipe for a pesto pizza that can be with meat or vegetarian. I had it for lunch yesterday and today... soooo yummy. You don't get that kind of taste in tomato sauce. Annnd I'm pretty sure the bright green color in the oil that comes of it means there's lots of vitamins in there. (another plus of pesto is it's not acidic, so it's not so likely to give you heartburn like the tomato sauce )

Yes, I have eaten grass. C'mon, be honest, who HASN'T tried it when they were little? I had a fascination with horses, and wanted to see what the fuss was about, I guess.

I have, and it tastes nothing like Pesto sauce. I also had a strange appetite for sand when I was little...

With ravioli...and meatballs..

"Pesto sauce tastes too much like grass, and it is too dry for the pasta."

You eat grass?

Absolutely definitely pesto. I just don't understand you people who don't like it! It's summer here so it's easy for me to make... the recipe is very vague, mine tastes a buit different every time:

Pick 6-ish cups of basil leaves (or parsley, or a combination of both) and chuck 'em in the food processor.
Add 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese, a couple of cloves of garlic, some salt and 1/4 cup of nuts or seeds (pine nuts are expensive so try walnuts, almonds, sesame, sunflower or pumpkin seeds or a combination).
Chop it all up into a nice fine green paste.
Add olive oil until you get the right consistency (thinner for pasta sauce, thicker for a spread on bread or crackers).

YUMMY!

Oh parmesan cheese is a must have!!!

Try pasta with grated, aged mizithra cheese instead of parmesan sometime....you will have a whole new cheese to love.

It would be an interesting party. *cough* He'd be all over my feet and your hair.

I actually had pasta w/ prego and parmesan cheese for dinner tonight, and it wasn't b/c of this thread. I seriously considered taking a picture.

*cough* That might be an... interesting... party, Liana.

And Tim, you forgot part of my name!

But yup, I love pasta . Especially medium-small shells, with sorta sweet tomato sauce, and lots of powdery parmesan. It fills up the shells and tastes SO good when you bite into it.

I'm exactly with Janna and Timmy on this one. I love Prego.

*invites Janna and Tim over for a pasta party*

Sometimes when the sauce is really chunky, my Dad puts it in the blender and liquifys (sp...) it for me.

I have to say, I am a lover of pesto as well (pesto and shrimp, now there's a great idea ). Green or red, either one is good. Too bad I almost never get it. They don't serve it at school (fortunately), and my mom doesn't make it anymore because my brother hates it.
