What is your favorite type of Arachnid, or which group do you find to be the most interesting?

Voted for Other Scorpion-like Group

I would have to say that my personal favorites are the Windscorpions, order Solifugae. I've found them in my house before, and at first they scared the crap out of me because I had never seen something that looked so weird.

EDIT: They also have like two pairs of jaws.

I'm VERY strange....I voted ticks/mites I'm constantly battling ticks on my dog, and for some reason, they fascinate me. I like to look at them and I'm always trying to strike a balance between killing the ticks and not harming my pets or us.

I have no favorite Arachnid but I voted for spiders cause I find them the most interesting. I've seen many shows that tell about certain ones & I find some of their behavior to be fascinating......... though I still cringe while watching it.

My favorites belong to the spider-like order Solifugae (camel spiders and the like).

However, if you expand this to include ALL Chelicerata, I'd have to go with either horseshoe crabs or eurypterids (7 foot arthropod predator FTW!).

Edit: Wow, Natalie, I read yours as "whip scorpions", not "wind scorpions". It wasn't until I noticed the order names the same that I figured out we were talking about the same thing. I've never heard them called "wind scorpions" before.

Although, to be fair, whip scorpions are cool too. Anything that can fling formic acid around gets a vote of "Awesome" from me.

The maximum number of poll options is five, so it was only possible to include the most basic options. It actually was going to be all of the Chelicerata, but I felt that combining a class as large and diverse as Arachnida into one option would be doing the group a disservice.

scorpions have the psychedelic feature of glowing under a black light, but i've always preferred spiders myself. my dad had a huge golden garden spider that made a web 7ft tall right outside the front door of his house one year. i used to feed it june bugs and whatever i could find to throw into its web that wouldn't break the webbing

SPIDERS ARE CREEPY!!

But, Scorpions are cool. I like the idea of having a stinging tail. My current one just itches.

I'm not a big fan of any of them but I guess spiders on the smaller side are okay.

I am going to go with Scorpions solely because I thought The Scorpion King with The Rock was such a bad movie that it was good and plus I am constantly getting bitten by house spiders

I think spiders are cool. Might have to do with reading Charlotte's Web when I was a youngster.
