My father works for a company that evaluates houses of people who have filed for bankruptcy and then moved out to avoid paying their bills. About 10 minutes ago he called me asking if I felt like meeting up with him. Turns out one of the houses has a 30 gallon or so fish tank set up. It has been abandoned almost a month but still has a couple dozen fish left alive in it. One sounds like a 6-8 inch Pleco from his description. So now I get the fun job of trying to go over there and save all these fish. ThankfullY I have an empty 55 gallon tank to set them up in.

Wish me luck.

Good Luck!!! Rescue fishes make some of the best pets. Poor little guys, I hope they're okay. Do you get the tank too?

No. I am not sure of the legality of taking the tank or anything except the livestock and water. Not even going to attempt it. As I said. I have a 55 collecting dust that will work just fine. I am leaving in a few minutes. Trying to collect nets and stuff now

Wow. Just Wow. I am home now.
That was.. Disgusting. The house looked like a trace heap. The tank was a 55 gallon with about 4-5 inches of water evaporated. Lots of fish. The quick list is
1 10 inch Pleco
2 Glass Cat Fish.
30 or so guppy fry
12 or so grown guppies.

I made the decision not to keep the fish though. I dont' have the time or desire to work on a fresh water tank.

Freshwater just isnt' my thing. So I took the fish to the LFS that I really trust and traded them in. I know they will be well taken care of there.

Good for you! I'm sure the fish would thank you if they could.

Well the Pleco kinda looked like it was trying to kiss me through the glass would that be thanks?

Seriously though. The fish were in amazingly good condition. The Pleco was gorgeous and the number of babies were staggering. The LFS was quite impressed.
