Living in the Bay Area and all, it would be foolish not to attend the local gay parade that happens each summer. This year was the largest I've ever seen... I've heard on the news that they think over 1,000,000 people attended this weekend's festivities. The crowds were so thick it was nearly impossible to walk anywhere, but luckily we got a pretty good view of the actual parade. At least the people who attend SF Pride tend to be a lot nicer than people at most other festivals, so dealing with the crowds wasn't too bad. Here are some photos I took of the parade (really only the first half or so, because it lasted about three hours and my camera battery died):

Nice! Dykes on Bikes is always my favourite. How long is the parade over there?

The official length of the parade is about eight blocks, and the celebration afterwards takes up another seven or eight blocks on top of that.

Say what you want about their lifestyle, it takes a heck of a lot of courage to wear a long, flowing wedding dress on a motorcycle. That's just dangerous.

I was just surprised the dress didn't get caught in the wheels and yank her off the bike (or Vespa, more correctly).

Considering the number of injuries women sustained before bloomers were invented I'm also surprised nothing happened!
