I did laugh particularly loudly when I read the bit about them being hunted to protect cod stocks.

Nothing like justifying the deaths of an animal to contribute to the preserving of a fish that was decimated by us. How conveinient. I suggest that 5.8 million seals eat about as much cod in a year as the human population eats in about 5 minutes....

Not to mention that cod are predatory fish that eat fish that WE eat too , hence are a bit short of food, but hell, lets kill all the seals anyway. Bearing in mind we ate most of the tuna and the whales that would eat most of the schooling fish too, so that the cod should really be doing ok, it kind of illustrates the degree of how much of the urine they might be taking on this particular issue.Lets solve overfishing by killing marine animals.Genius.

Fishing ban on the bait species might be more appropriate methinks.

This is bearing in mind we can LIVE without the Cod and the seals can't. I haven't eaten fish for 4 years, and surprise, surprise i'm still healthy. I completely agree with longhairedgit. Humans stink sometimes
