Great ink guys keep up the good work and keep posting the pics! Hey Adam, did Babel get a star permanently etched on her wrist too? If so, that's so sweet!! If not, oh well, the thought still counts. I see what you're saying. I would think that said technology would come in handy for portrait tatoos as well. "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

I'm working on the design for mine at the moment. Have been for the past 2 years (I'm very picky, thats what I get for going to art school). .mitch. .mitch. |

DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002 | The tops werent bad at all really...the inner wrists and where it goes up to the palm of my hands are what hurt the worst. All in all the pain was mild, especially compared to my stomach tats. The stomach tats were "rip the arms off the chair" kind of pain lol Im very happy with this guys work. I think I found my new perm. artist. I love the colors, and its interesting to know that he makes his own. He said he wasnt happy with the commercially available inks so he started researching about 10 years ago and has made his own ink ever since. He also said that instead of the colors dulling out, they will be more vivid once the tat is healed. |

DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002 | Oldtimer...my mom asked me the same thing. To me its just a different way to display an artists work. Just as you or anyone else would hang a picture on the wall, I choose to "hang" my pictures on my skin. Ive always been interested in tattoos, even when I was younger. I dont think tattoo's are for everyone, but it is the way I choose to display my "art". Funny thing is that the walls in my house are completely white and there isnt really much at all hanging on them. LOL...go figure eh? |

crazyred Fish Addict LAZY and I don't care :D Posts: 575 Kudos: 360 Votes: 293 Registered: 26-Aug-2005 | I guess I chose to do mine because I wanted to permanently express how I feel about some things. I guess that sometimes, in life, some things are so temporary, but tatoos go with ya to the grave. Might also be peer pressure a little....everyone else I know was doing it, I thought if it looked cool on them, it would look even cooler on me! "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

Do you design the tatoo's or do you allow the tatooist (is that a word, lol) to just do has he or she is inspired? I have done it both ways Oldtimer. I have tattoo's that I have just went in and sat down and told the artist to do as they please. I have just recently changed artists, but until about a month ago I had been going to the same guy for the last 12 years, so he knew my "style". Most of the time however I have an idea of what I want and I relay my idea to my artist and let them draw up something ba |

Do you think you'll ever regret getting them? I know several individuals that as they got on in life wish they hadn't gotten them. Of course they may also have originally got the tatto's on a spur of the moment thing, or maybe a few too many Jim |

tiny_clanger Fish Guru Posts: 2563 Kudos: 571 Votes: 12 Registered: 17-Sep-2002 | It's true. When I was a kid I desperately wanted a small Arabic caligraphy tattoo on my shoulder - Assalaamu Aleikum, peace be upon you. I had a design I really liked and everything, just wanted to be old enough to have it done. Luckily I never got it done, with all the Arab-hatred which has come into existance in this world. ------------------------------------------------- I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions |

DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002 | Ok, so 4.5 hours of outline and only 50-60% of the outline is done. I will take some pics and post them soon. The outline will probably look like a bunch of garble (is that a word? ) until color is added. We decided to stop where we were at and let it heal then add color before going on to more outline. Soooooo basically my 4-5 sittings most likely turned into 12-14 sittings because the half sleeve has snowballed into a full sleeve |

DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002 | It would have been longer. We were planning on going from 6pm-midnight and outlining my whole sleeve, but we wanted to stop and figure out what else we were going to piece into it. Ive wanted this "reef scene" for so long, I think I could have put up with the outline and color all in one sitting. |
