Shrews in backyard? | |
inkodinkomalinko Fish Guru Posts: 2441 Kudos: 833 Registered: 18-Jan-2003 | Hey everyone, I need some advice on what to do about a shrew problem in my backyard. During the past couple of weeks, my backyard started to get numerous holes everywhere. We suspected it to be mice or something, but my mom saw something that resembled a shrew. So, how do we get rid of it?...or them..before my backyard gets turned inside out? Thanks! |

I don't think we have any shrews around here that are known for any significant burrowing. Here are some eco-friendly methods for mole-control I found... They might work for gophers too. http://www.harvestsafe.com/products.php?catID=2235 I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Shrews are a tiny little mouse like thing that usually hides in tall grass and burrows into things like compost piles. I am lucky I dont have a problem with them because my Chihuahua digs em out of our compost and kills em (and rats/mice). Sounds more to me like gopher/prairie dog/mole something like that. Shrews are pretty ugly and they have a venomous bite. Here's a picture of Sorex vagrans from eNature.com From the FishProfiles.com etiquette: Do not em I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Where I come from we do not have that sort of creature.... was a bad joke obviously ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |
