I am in Sydney. I live in Epping. A general get-together would be good as I don't have the dosh for a LFS crawl.

My lfs is right near a pub which leads me to think that an idea would be for someone to choose an LFS near a pub so we can shop then have a counter lunch. (I don't drink but I am sure some people would like a bevvie or two)

The lfs I go to is in Parramatta and is near the crown and thistle, or crown and rose or something. You know the ubiquitous pub name, ye olde improbable combo.

Anyway just an idea. I would be in on it. Be good to meet with a few names I am familiar with. Thanks for listing me Call.

The Aquarium? That is a fish related outing.
I think NRMA members get a discount - at least I remember reading such a thing. Just an idea but might be a bit expensive but thought I would put the idea out there.

It is whale watching season at the moment. Maybe we can book a southern right for the weekend...get it to wave as it heads north.

OK, I'm not feeling brilliant, but i'm making a big effort to go! you lot can too!

The general idea is to visit shops in the area that you may not have been to for ages, or never before, and gawk at the fish and products. There isnt much buying involved (although, i do require an oto and a few white clouds, but thats it)

I'll have a poke around about the aquarium outing, I could easily spend hours in that last barrier reef part, but its a bit $$, thats all. I'll see what i can find out.

Dig out your coupons, we should be able to do this cheaply

tho, there are a few that have been excluded already due to extreme facial expressions of the idiotic variety and misplaced backsides.

Sin and I have had a bit of a chatter and we are thinking our next outing should be on the Hawkesbury at Bobbin Head/Pittwater/Lion Island area.

Total passengers cannot exceed 11 tho, but i don't think that will be a problem.

I figure a day on the water will be fun for the lot of us Perhaps a wonderful beach pick-a-nic and some swimming in the creeks at high tide? Yabbie pumping? a spot of fishing for those so inclined? dipnetting? set a crabpot or 2? Geez, its been forever since i've been out there, but i think we would have a ball...

Just gotta sort out day licences with Fisheries and see what the deal is with the restrictions on my licence *pout* they have decided for some reason that i cannot tow skiiers *pout* so maybe its test time again.

But yeah, thats the rough plan (sometime either in Spring school hols or summer school hols) and YES, i WILL make Miss Sin either stay over here or get several loud alarm clocks... perhaps i should loan her my very hungry cats.... they are set for 5am most mornings!

I got the the ferry wharf just in time for the ferry home...my guess would be that one would be at 4pm and I was right! Very lucky. It was a lovely trip on the water.

Yes the fish talk was brief and informative (don't know what else to say Mango)

Would be interesting to see any pics...mine are still in my camera (old fashioned sort not digital). I have L plates with my camera so am not hopeful that any will turn out.

Abbey, its not like i will actually ever coordinate well enough to make one of these meetings but 2 friends of mine have ski boats, they are always out and about on the harbour so maybe they would be keen, maybe not but hey... just a thought.

Im glad all had a great time, this marine lecture sounded very interesting indeed!
