I've got 3 Betta's from Parklea, none of them have ever had any problems. Their fish generally look healthier than most LFS I've been to.
I'm a bit wary of their tanks though - had the bottom of a 20 from there go on me a while ago ], but i think it was just a fluke 'cause it was a well known & widley available brand. Aside from that hesitation, they're generally great for getting equipment (filters, lighting, decor....)

The two in Westfield are Pet's Paradise (nice staff, but not the brightest ) and Pets r Fun (also nice staff, but even less bright ) They're good for me if I need food etc... in a hurry 'cause I work in Hornsby.

If you're getting a whole setup for the new tank you mention, it might be worth checking out St George. Their prices (& quality) are generally relly good, & they do good package deals.

- Mods, this is getting less & less 'General FW' oriented so if anyone wants to move it to RR please do so. Ta.

I mainly go to Reef because the owner is a pretty cool guy. If you're ever there, his name is Michael and he's the one with the ponytail. I didn't know about the ones at Westfield. Are they shops like Pets' Paradise or specialty fish stores?

I can't say I even knew you could get fish at Parklea Markets! Though, isn't it a bit risky (diseases, fish stress, etc)?

I'll have a look at the other stores you mentioned too, as I'll be looking for a new twin globe reflector soon as well as a new tank.

Hi! Nice to see another local! I'm in Wahroonga!

I mostly go to Reef, or the 2 in Westfield if i'm desparate , but I go to the one in Castle Hill a bit, Kelyville Pets, Parklea Markets... few others. I get down to St. George @ Rockdale every now & then....
I wouldn't really trust anything the staff at any of them say though - I rely on my own research.

Hmmm, I might have to make some calls. I wanted to get them tonight.

Hey, I'm on the North Shore as well - Turramurra in fact! :%) The only two fish shops I visit frequently are:

Reef Aquariums in Hornsby (quite popular by the looks of things); and

Hi-Tek Aquariums in Pymble (near the train station).

As to whether either of them stock blackworms at the moment, I couldn't tell you. Sorry.

What other stores 'round this area have you come to rely on and trust?
