Nice tattoos ... the pansy could easily be fixed ... if the tattooist ran a shop go back and ask him/her to touch it up. The tattooists ive been too will fix em even if it was your fault.

The tiger is on my right shoulder ... not a great piece .. but not bad either ... the tail wraping it completes yin and yang.

It is of my back ... i dont have alot of definition (been married 5 years) and didnt want to show off my man boobs <g>.

Calla if you have a high pain tolerance tattoos dont hurt (until you get on joints, breast bone, collar bones, and anywhere the sun doesnt normally get to ... like inside your arms).

Im still really afraid of needles ... (ive had 3 operations in the last year and they still freak me out)the tattooist neeedle contains between 1 really wide tooth to 13 smaller teeth. It looks nothing like a needle.

Keep the pictures coming ... the other dragons were an interesting comparison to mine ... not my style but good work none the less.

Ohh the ribs hurt really, really bad.

I like the shamrock with the flag in it ... good to see custom work.

Your tattoo is gorgeous doedogg. Very unique. I love yours too bdadawg.

To throw myself in with the dragon-tattoos (though mine is smaller and much less impressive!) here's a pic of mine that I got when I was 16. Could have been a really bad move, I'm so thankful that I still like it a lot! It's on my left side between my hip and my ribs. Up towards my ribs hurt the most. I'm keen for another one day, something a bit more personal to me and maybe a little bigger.

well the Pentacle is the perfect example of Divine Proportion, PHI, 1.618, #2-#3

the 5 points also symbolize Spirit, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water

the pentacle is also in one of Da Vinci's famous works "Vitruvian Man" and since the pentacle is also the feminine symbol of protection, the man inside the circle- his head and limbs completed the full pentacle, thus completeing Da Vinci's intended message- male and female harmony

the Pentacle is also seen in many other famous paintings

Still not 100% right. the downward facing star in a circle is also a 2nd year apprentice type thingy where it represents human influence being lesser than the other 4 elements.

seems to be a very widely used symbol, you might want to also tattoo a document underneath it dakafall, on what it means to you

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

i'm sure pentagrams still have a circle. They're the same but upside down.

Bryben: Yes you are very wrong on that.
A pentigram is an upside down star, with no cirlce.

A Penticle is an up right star, with a circle around it.
It's often a symbol you will see in the Wiccan religion (also not evil).

No tats yet, but the first one I intend to get is here: [link=http://www.deviantart.com/view/11028339/]http://www.deviantart.com/view/11028339/" style="COLOR: #202020[/link] Another person designed the basic tat and I changed it a bit (with permission, of course) to echo my avatar. I've already given the design to my piercer/tattooist and now I'm just waiting for money... *twitches*

i think a cool tat 2 get would be one of the pentacle (not devil worship)the pentacl is actually the sign of Venus (Roman Goddess)(if you've read "The Da Vinci Code" that's where i got it) on the ankle

This is mine, I got it on our honeymoon on Cape Cod. Our daughters name will probably go on in the Spring. We did know we were having a girl when I got it and knew we were naming her Hailey, but I wasn't getting it until I saw she was a girl with my own eyes!

Seeing as how piercings were covered ...

Im interested in getting my thighs done and kind of looking for ideas ... id like to see any pictures of your tattoos that can be shown.

The one shown below is actually 2 different tattoo's joined to form one. The tiger was first then came the dragon. The Dragon also covers almost a third of my upper chest (all the painful spots like collar bones and breastbone).

Calla just find something fairly simple...Lots of details hurt....stay away from joints (elbows, wrist, ankles, shoulder area)...the black is the worst but it was more annoying than anything, and then it only became annoying when they hit pinkish area on the pansy (black, blue, purple, pink) 4 times it was hit began to annoy. I'll tell you the breast area is relly easy, and didn't hurt (pansy)...shoulder was annoying and painful at times (shanrock) So find something you like and go do it Calla, I dn't regret it a bit!!!Heidi

Doe: I really like that tattoo, it's quiet different

Tatto's will and won't hurt, it's very dependant on WHERE you get them done, and an indivduals threashold for pain.
I'm generally a phsyical woose, but I tend to have a high threashold for pain, unless it's something like my stomach is neausious, can't deal with that.

Anyway...
I have this one lizard on the side of my right calf, I guess it's about 4 inches long or so. I've had it for... um... 5+ years now I suppose and it still looks as dark as the day I got it.

Here are my 2 dragons that cover my back.

Calla, start with something small, it really isn't as bad as you think. I am scared to death of needles and the tattoo ones don't even phaze me...I think its because you really don't see the needle once its in the gun. The piercing needles...now thats another story.

Calla - try markers My tattoo of choice = Sharpie

Bdadawg was saying that it also covers part of his chest - which is what you can't see in the photo, hence why he explained And I did see the tiger. It's not nearly as big as the dragon - that threw me off for a while.

ah, calla, it's alright, there's still hope, cept it comes on a little piece of paper, has a plastic cover, and only requires a wet rag to apply, no needles involved
