I think a surerfire indication of a classic is numerous reruns on free to air. This constant exposure leads to phrases entering into popular culture.

Can you name the shows these came from (all tv shows, tho' one was a tv spin off from a movie)

1)"Mom always said don't play ball in the house"
2)"Yadda, Yadda, Yadda"
3)"VITAME ATAVEGAMIN"
4)"Uh-oh, choppers"
5)"That's all folks"

(NB none of the quotes contain the name of any characters to give it away)

Once all 5 are named correctly I will turn it over to the community.... Rea-dy, Se-et, GO!

Well, to be perfectly honest, I did pass up the Seinfeld one (for which I am ashamed), not to mention the Lucy quote, as I am not exactly a huge fan.

That is the hinges on the vault opening...

Dust off your brain cells and hit us with the next one...

Give us a tv catchphrase (or movie) to solve...

Gee I know WHO but darned if I know the name of which of her movie's. They kinda blend as one really

(as an aside I read Shirley Temple's biography... worth a look if you can find the title on amazon and see if it is in your library catalogue)

If the name of the movie isn't "Alphabet Soup" then I don't know... is that even a name of a movie. *I will not resort to googling!*

Anyone?

Ummmmm Yeah.....anyone?? I don't know either wish-ga!

I was just going to settle for "movie"............ "Shirley temple." Did I need to know the name too?? Sorry

I don't think it was Alphabet Soup though. That doesn't sound like a movie for back then & I don't even think Alphabet Soup was invented back then.

Not Alphabet Soup. The name of the film is also the name of a Simon & Garfunkel song.

Ok.............. since I brought the subject up, I took it upon myself to look up the movie. This is what I found:

Not just The Good Ship Lollipop... Most people know of Shirley Temple because she sang "On the Good Ship Lollipop" more than 60 years ago in the film "Bright Eyes", when she was six years old, in 1934. But there it lots more to Shirley Temple than just "On the Good Ship Lollipop".

Ok........... now that that's done with.............NEXT!?

"__________wrapped in plastic." ........still up for grabs

AND

"Don't mention __________" ....solved by Callatya; "Don't mention the war" is from Fawlty Towers.

Finish the quotes and tell us what tv show...

(too easy but I did tell you I didn't have any more ideas!)

That comes from Fantasy Island. The character in question who uttered the line being Tattoo, played by Herve Villechaise, whose later years were somewhat tragic.

Right ... one that some of the Board members should be able to answer immediately ...

Dame Enda Everege....... signature flower: gladioli

For something different.... this is a pop culture product not a tv catch phrase...

What well known powdered drink (bearing no resemblance to any fruit in nature) is a status symbol in mainland China? And drunk hot in winter.

A non-fruit powdered drink? Bugger. I want to bounce around and say Chocolate Quik, but surely not. Although, perhaps something milk based?
