Thankyou Australia - The Best Common Name Ever | |
Mez Ultimate Fish Guru Asian Hardfeather Enthusiast Posts: 3300 Votes: 162 Registered: 23-Feb-2001 | Well we got a shipment of stuff at work from australia. Freshwater stuff. Amongst them were these cardinal-type fish, but are actually freshwater. They are mouths with fins. Glossamia aprion is the name of the fish. The common name for this is one of the best i have heard and well suited for a fish ever. Ladies and gentlemen, please find out about MOUTH ALMIGHTY! http://www.nativefish.asn.au/mouth-almighty.html |

Found in dense vegetation in streams, ponds and reservoirs. Also these were caught in fresh. There are similar speceis that are brackish, for sure, and some that are full marine.. |

The store owners must have mislabelled the fish. |
