The thought occurred to me that it's about time we all gathered round the FP campfire, and handed out merit badges to some deserving people. So, I shall begin, and having presented my merit badges, give everyone else the opportunity to present a few of their own.

[1] Adam. An obvious recipient of a large shiny merit star, for bringing this site into being in the first place, keeping it going, oiling the cogs and debugging errant code long into the wee hours of the morning. Mind you, one unsolved mystery remains: what fish does Adam keep?

[2] Cory_Di. Just lately, Cory_Di has been beavering away in The Hospital with exemplary devotion to duty, depsite having battled against her own illness, and facing a mysterious ailment striking her beloved habrosus which mystifies me as well as her, not least because of the TLC she lavishes upon them. Large merit star with Ariel the Mermaid and a stethoscope duly presented.

[3] The Mod Team. A collective merit star with a hammer and gavel on the front for striving assiduously to dispense sanguine judgement and rule on contentious issues in a carefully considered manner. Remember, they do what they do for a reason. Even if you don't like some of their decisions, there's a rationale behind them. Someone has to man the extinguishers before flame wars get out of control!

[4] Gary Roland. Although our paths crossed infrequently, I became aware that he was a big influence on the Board from an early stage in my own Board career. With a directness that would have earned him limitless admiration in Yorkshire, coupled with years of hard-won experience, he dispensed sagely advice and helped quite a few newcomers shed their greenhorn status and become fully fledged fishkeepers. His loss is keenly felt by many, and it is fitting that he should be commemorated in some way on the Board. I think he would like the idea of a merit star with a Clown Loach on the front somehow

And now, over to the rest of you.

Props to the people who are are always kind (especially those who aren't high profile posters). Kindness is highly underrated.
