is that new? or used?

I ask as that looks exactly like the 125 my friend in porter had before he moved to NY. Don't know if he got rid of the tank or not..

anyway, congrats

heidi you can be as bubbly as you like! I'd be positively boiling over if it was me getting a 125g tank!

Please keep us up to date as the story progresses. I love living vicariously through other people's tanks and fishy experiences!

Nice! A 125 for $125? You've got a real excuse to be excited. You deserve extra kudos for getting twenty cories, you made a good choice indeed.

Oh my!!! Next time when someone says to find another guy to help move something I WILL LISTEN!!! I feel as though I now resemble a chimp, or that my arms are out of placeYes, yours truly and one other guy moved that 125 gallon tank. I was doing good till we got about 5 foot from my front door, and then once it was in the house, I had to set my end down for a second on the arm of the couch! I wimped out. I felt as though my arms were being dislocated, my legs were wobbling so much I must have looked like a new born foal. Donald King (the guy who drove it to my place and I helped carry it) was AWESOMEHe didn't whine when I began to lose it, and encouraged me on; but then again what else could he do? I paid him $30 instead of the $25, heck he deserved more than that, but I didn't have it on me.

After swearing I wasn't going to do anything else tonight, and walking back out to the car with him, I ended up deciding to carry in 2 of the 25# bags of gravel, and getting started with it. So I now have the tank on the stand, 50# of gravel (I still have #50 more in the truck), the heaters connected and set to 78, the pump running, and it's filled a little more than 75%, I guess about 100 gallons or so (dang that is a lot of water)

OK I guess that's it for now...gonna attach some pictures so ya'll can watch the progress ...oh and it was $125, it was $400, still one heck of a deal in my opinion Heidi

2/3rds full there abouts

Ok for anyone that cares I'm trying to keep this up to date daily...

I did plant almost 50 plants yesterday, and like i said the corries and 2 neons are in the tank. My neons when first placed in the tank were seperate, but i have noticed that now they are side by side, like "Good grief, don't you dare leave me, I'll never find you again." "Leave you! You must be insane, I was the one who was alone in the tank, you, you were the one huddled up with the corries trying to make friends with them like they were guppies, don't you know corries don't speak our language? They speak bottom feeder language, you fool!"

So since last night i was too lazy to download pictures, i have today and will post something other than the tank!

Heidi

awww silly neon!
There's always one fish that has species relationship issues :%). I've got a danio that would hang out with the goldfish both of them pretending to be corys before I moved the goldie, now the danio takes up cory duty all by himself...next thing I know he'll probably be trying to get along with the MTS :%)!

Nice pics, can't wait to see those plants grow up.... and see the tank entered in the next aquascaping contest great job...and t'anks for letting us enjoy the tank !

Just wondering if you had any problems getting a tank that big to fit in an aparment. I thought it would be too heavy. Beautiful tank!

actually it wasn't too hard to get into the apartment, but it was heavy as heck! The hardest part was getting around this one corner we have...it's like an entrance way then an immediate left to get into my apartment, and right beside my door is the stairs...kind of awkward, but not nearly as rough as the couch was:%)someday I will have to quit being so independent, and willing to ask for help:%). For now here is another picture.
