yeah, i forgot about happy texas they made a movie called happy texas, but i never saw it either anyway, if you get out a texas map and just start looking in the middle of nowhere, you'll find all kinds of crazy names for towns. and if you get to houston there's a center named for one of the daughters of one of texas' first governors: ima hogg (no lie). she was the daughter of jim hogg, who had a problem with "women-folk" as i understand it and somewhere between abilene and amarillo there used to be a town called justiceburg which had a population of TWO it was some woman and her mom, and they had a combination gas station/restaurant/souvenir shop/museum and a post office.

You 'could' try to hop in a kangaroo pouch, but you will probably be gutted.

I know, just the idea is funny...

I guess whetu doesn't.

I thought of a few things to add, but then they disappeared...

Oh! Wait... A thing I missed when I lived in England, that American:

Go to Wendy's and get a frostie. (thick chocolate milk shake)

I wish I remembered the rest...

What?! You mean you don't say ya'll on a regular basis normally? *faints*

edit: oh, and "Rainbow, Texas"... maybe i should move...
edit #2: I will learn how to type some day...

Not suck on them, I hope...I know my stepdad practices golf with them (ewwww).

The whole thing reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer is on that exotic island with the hallucinogenic frogs - 'Nope, not that one, nope, ahhhh that's the one'.

Was there moratorium on exciting Texas movies?

Im wondering what that Alamo movie would be like.

Just thought of another thing to do:

* smuggle fireworks in from Mexico

Okay, so I've got a list of stuff that we've already done and stuff we plan to do while whetu is visiting here in Texas. I'm curious though, is there anything else that you can think of?

Things Already Done:
-Eaten a Snocone
-Gone Bowling
-Gone to Wal Mart
-Played Pool
-Ate breakfast at IHOP (International House of Pancakes)
-Gone to a Texas fish store
-Met a 4 foot long crocodile (Will feed it at a later date)

Things To Do:
-Make and Drink lemonade
-Eat "real" Mexican food
-Go to a barbecue and eat "real" barbecue
-Sit under a shade tree
-Sit on a porch swing and watch a Texas sunset
-Go to a drive-in movie
-Go to a Sonic (Old-style drive in restaurant)
-Meet an actual cowboy
-Ride a horse
-Ride a mechanical bull
-Rope something (steer, etc.)
-Throw horseshoes
-Go to a baseball game
-Learn to two-step
-Ride a jet-ski (POSSIBLY learn to water-ski)
-Play miniature golf
-Throw, catch, and hit a baseball
-Go to the Seether/Evanescence concert
-Visit a nuclear power plant
-Feed me (Billy) Vegemite and Tim Tams
-Meet a buffalo (named Buffy)
-Meet meriadoc and Oleta and SpecHarpo
-Do water changes, rearrangements, and setting up of a new fishtank
-Begin saying "ya'll" on a regular basis
-Discover the origin of the names of five Texas towns (with funny names) by talking to the locals

I'm sure we've forgot some that we've already discussed, but this is the list that we can think of for now. Anyone who has any more suggestions, please feel free to add them and we'll see what we can do to arrange them

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

You should go to Arkansas if you want to investigate towns with strange names. They have Red Onion, Black Oak, and Toad Suck. Toad Suck even has a town festival every year called Toad Suck Daze.

those are some good suggestions Hooben! (Except the rocky mountain oysters ) I was planning to visit Mr. Bush and give him a few words of advice for his campaign, but I think he's been avoiding me.

This morning Billy & I played frisbee golf (actually Billy played frisbee golf, I constantly misunderestimated distances and sent my frisbee everywhere except where it should go).

Then I gave Billy a vegemite sandwich for lunch. I think he really liked it - he took a bite then jumped up and ran from the room with it still in his mouth. I figure he wanted to savour the taste for as long as possible, and was running to tell his friends how good it was. Then he gave me the rest of his sandwich to eat. How generous! His friend Sarah didn't seem to enjoy hers so much. She made a kind of strangled screaming sound and also ran from the room. But maybe it was a cry of delight?

Then we did Billy's hair for work. A white stripe down the middle, yellow on the right, purple on the left and yellow, purple and green spots around the sides and back. Kind of like a psychedelic skunk.

After Billy went to work I hung out for the rest of the day with Sarah at her apartment block where they have a swimming pool! Bliss!

Moondog, on my way here I drove through Happy. When we go to Dallas to visit the Dallas FP Gang we'll be going past a place called Rainbow. We haven't decided which ones we're going to investigate... there are so many possibilities!
