My sister got some of these at walmart yesterday. They look really neat actually. They came in a box and the box says: Triassic Triops, hatch you own ancient creatures. . In the box, there was a container with the eggs (the triops) and it came w/ food for them and instructions. I was wondering, has anyone had these before? I put them in a fish bowl, cause it says you just have to add water lol. they are suppose to be in direct sunlight so i put them by my window, and the water isnt suppose to go below 72 degrees or the eggs will die, and i think through the night the water dropped below. So, my sister and I (if they dont hatch) are going to get another box, they are only 4 dollars. They can get up to 3 inches long!!! . thanks

I had only a handful hatch and I decided that they weren't worth all the work involved to keep them alive.

Why not put them in a glass juice bottle and pop them in one of your heated tanks? (perhaps on an upturned pot as a pedestal?)

oo where did I see those, Drs. Foster and Smith maybe? I can't remember, but Callys idea sounds good. Let us know how it turns out, I'd be interested in seeing pics.

We hatched some and they get pretty big but I don't think 3 inches. Maybe ours expired prematurely. They're pretty cool to do once and that's about it.

They probably didn't expire prematurely. They have extremely short lifespans. They live in temporary pools and have to complete their lifecycles in a very short time span.

I was looking really close 2day and I saw some movement in the water, when i looked closer i saw this Tiny little thing swimming around, and then i saw more of them. I put the food in there. it says that they double in size each day until they r full grown or something. they look like BBS after they hatch, crazy... they would make good betta fry food maybe!!
i cant wait til they get large.

Watch out though, they get big fast and are predatory, so if one escaped the bettas, the bettas would soon be lunch. You'll see them start to canibalize pretty soon too.
