As who says tarantulas are small? Small to what Godzilla? I'm sorry when I've seen them as big as a small plate...that isn't small... So back to the question...what is the most important thing to know when holding a taratula? Babel had half the answer...the other part is make sure someone else is in the room to call 911 and get you to the hospital... My question....why during menopause do us women have to have hot flashes? Anyone can answer that? heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." Thomas Carlyle |

At worst they are a danger to themselves and others. It's not a hot flash, it's a power surge. I forget who told me that but they were trying to put a positive spin on them so they'd feel better. The idea is not to give the correct answer, it's to give some wierd, cooky, silly, goofy answer. Or pose some painfully obvious or obtuse question that we can have fun with. So let's get wierd....er. The pretty purple color is the consolation prize. Things may have gone south in the tank but you've got pretty purple to look at. The time thing has to do with Einsteins law of special cicumstances governing the apparent inconsistant movement of time in reationship to events yet to come on your particulr piece of linear time. It was never published, some say because the name of the thing was too long. Anyway the short version is that when you are dreading something you slow down. Now as we all know the faster you go the slower time moves. As you approach the speed of light time almost stops. The inverse is also true, the slower you go the faster time moves. That's why. Mike |

However the old adage says nothing about licking. But then, being made out of sugary stuff, it would eventually dissolve. Then you would have no hand that feeds you. You might end up with a foot that feeds you. Now, I wouldn't mind that if it was a pretty foot. But suppose you ended up getting fed by Andy Rooney's foot. What a nightmare! Mike |

Mike R![]() Fish Addict Posts: 593 Kudos: 830 Votes: 322 Registered: 27-Jul-2004 ![]() ![]() | There are 3 shades of black. Sparkley, shiney and flat. Sparkley you wear at night so motorists can see you. Shiney you wear to dinner, the nature of shiney material is such that it repels stains. Flat you wear with heels because you don't want to upstage the shoes. The new black season is July and Aug. in the northern hemisphere, Jan. and Feb in the southern. that way you can sweat off those extra pounds. That concludes this installment of Mr.Mike Fashion Tips. You mean the Hokey Pokey isn't what it's all about. What ever am I going to do now? What do you call food that isn't Organic. Mike EDIT- Wishga, What is Manky goo? wish-ga![]() ![]() Mega Fish Dial 1800-Positive-Posts Posts: 1198 Kudos: 640 Registered: 07-Aug-2001 ![]() ![]() | Meaning of Manky for Mike R; Manky (Adjective) ![]() >Definition 1: (Chiefly British and particularly Scottish) Dirty, used, but also maimed, mutilated, or otherwise defective. Usage 1: The term was borrowed by Scots English in the 16th century as "mank." Since expanding more broadly through Britain it has accumulated the common adjective suffix "-y." Though neither the Oxford nor Cambridge dictionaries list "mankiness" as the noun, given the productivity of this suffix, there is no reason not to apply it should the occasion arise. Suggested usage: You might not want to use this word on a job interview but it does allow you to give "dirty" and "used" a rest down at the pub. "Now, now, don't cry. Use my tissue. I'm afraid it is a bit manky. Sorry." It can also replace "out of whack" and "broken" without forcing you to the more cerebral "defective": "If you don't like this wine, your palate is manky." "Manky" provides you the luxury of a choice of unoffensive alternatives in referring to lame or disabled limbs: "a game leg" or "a manky arm" (or vice versa). Etymology: Old French manc, manque via Scottish. Originally from Latin mancus "maimed." The underlying root is *man-ko- "maimed in the hand." Akin to English "mangle" and Sanskrit manak "little." The root, man- is the same as that in Latin manus "hand," which appears in numerous English borrowings: "manual (by hand)," "manipulate," "manusc (from the Word of the day link at the below website) http://www.yourdictionary.com Last edited by wish-ga at 10-Jan-2005 21:16 ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |

Volcanic ash spews from volcanos but that isn't where it comes from. Deep inside the Earth, the original inhabitants of this corner of the galaxy are hard at work building a propulsion system. They intend to move the Earth to the binary system of Proxima-Alpha Centauri where it will be inserted into a figure 8 orbit around both stars. Volcanic ash is a by-pruduct of their labor which they expel during eruptions. And Whetu, as for sharing it would depend in what capacity. If you could be more specific I could ask. Or maybe I could give you her e-mail and you could ask. Mike ps. We went to dinner, hung out until it was time to send the kids to bed, locked our bedroom doors and a good time was had by all. I'm so glad she's home. |

Extensive studies have been done at Ruchhoeft's Really Rare Rodent Sanctuary in Wisconsin. The location is kept a secret for security reasons. Really rare rodents are very valuable, It would be a shame if someone snitched some. Now the studies were done with the Waffle Woodchuck, known for it's vibrantly varigated vur...I mean fur. It was found that a 2 kilogram chuck could chuck approximately 4 kilograms before retiring in restful repose. Mike ps. I knew you figured that. I thought it was a trivia question so I confirmed it. |

Has nothing to do with homeostasis, Woodchucks are decidedly imbalanced from the cellular level all the way up to severe bouts of gastric distress. It's pretty icky business cleaning woodchuck cages. They are also usually deeply disturbed emotionally. On to Peter, If memory serves it was a peck. A peck is a quarter bushel. A peck = 8 quarts = 537 cubic inches. Now if we assume the average pepper is 1.46702 cubic inches, he picked 365.25 or 1 for each day of the year. Mike In what capacity did the horses aid in trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together? |

But, it was do to the temporariness of the adhesive from the froth of the king's horses, that the king's men were unable to successfully put humpty dumpty back together again. Now if the king's men had been prepared for such an unfortunate event one if not all of them would have had a tube of super glue, magnifying glass, and tweezers, and woud have been quite successful at putting humpty dumpty together again. Since they were not successful at putting humpty dumpty together again, he was unfortunate enough that he became scrambled, and Mrs. Humpty Dumpty was left to raise their dozen of egglets alone. From english viewpoint, the sentence contradicts its self, therefore not possible. From mathematics viewpoint, the solution is irrational. From chemistry viewpoint, at this stage, an equilibrium is reached, therefore it is neither full nor empty. I'd say the correct answer (what not to say) is choice 3. "HEY! You almost hit my new car! I'm about to beat the crap out of you!" If you've ever watched 'The day the earth stood still', you'd understand why you should not take an agressive stance with a superior being. Is it my turn? Here's an easy one... What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything? |

Just reread it and you were talking about why the plural of moose is moose. Geeze, do you have to make the ?s so complicated? The plural of moose is moose because mooses would sound silly and mice is already taken and miice would be hard to ![]() That's my guess, Mike Last edited by Mike R at 26-Jan-2005 19:40 |

So I started this thread. Idea is to ask a question that has a really obvious answer. The more obvious the BETTER. Basically we want to feel smart because we know the answer so you get accolades for being as pedestrian as possible. Join in, it's funner than not knowin' stuff! ![]() Last edited by wish-ga at 26-Jan-2005 20:24 ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |

Why do people say, "Clean as a whistle"? Whistles, if they had been blown, would have at least a little spit in them. If it has any spit at all, I wouldn't consider it clean. Mike |
