You might end up with a foot that feeds you. Now, I wouldn't mind that if it was a pretty foot.

O dear ! ther'es another of them! who knew that tim would end up with disciples.

What do you call food that isn't Organic.

american ...and or mc donalds....come on what more could you expect from a country where ther'es a company with the motto "food for the fun of it" ...frito lay btw....and yes I do like fritos but only eat them on the 25th of december.

Okay and for a seriously important one...

Why is it that the one thing you were looking forward to or excited about ends up not going right

Case in point, the new glass tank cover I bought this weekend is almost twice as wide as my tank >.<...*wanders back to square 1*

Trolls on the Astral plane. After something like that ask your Spirit Guide to kick some Troll butt. After a while they figure out when they mess with you a butt whoopin follows and they leave you alone. Viking, Celtic and Mongol Spirit Guides are much in demand for this sort of thing.

Mike

ps. So, are those your tootsies on Tim's avatar?

MINE NOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!

I dont' wear nail polish ....besides mine have been known to kill fish by stepping on them ...they're safely enclosed in two pairs of socks (one wool thank you very much) and boots right now....

So that begs the next question.....where does one advertise for a spirit guide.....

In the Asral Times of course. Or you can go to the Astral Plane and find one. That involves getting out of your body which ain't easy. When it starts to happen you think, "Cool, I'm doing it!" and the spell is broken and you slam back in.

Mike

ps. Post a pic of your feet sans socks and I'll try to find you a viking. They're the best.

See I thought they had to be researched thru the spirit guide

funny that, it's rather similar to flying the knack of which is throwing yourself @the ground and missing as we all know.

Huh?

Edit-Never mind I think I got it. Astral Projecting is like flying, right?

And how can you research a spirit guide through a spirit guide if you don't have a spirit guide?

Well, we now know who has the silvery blue polish

I've got a question: Why is it the day you decide to go home sick, the other teacher in the room decides to dismantle your classroom, and put it back together in a way that suits her, yet leaves you totally bewildered?

And exactly where is that dang folder with "The Story Type Wheel" on the front?

Meaning of Manky for Mike R;

Manky (Adjective)

unciation: ['mæng-kee or -ki]

>Definition 1: (Chiefly British and particularly Scottish) Dirty, used, but also maimed, mutilated, or otherwise defective.

Usage 1: The term was borrowed by Scots English in the 16th century as "mank." Since expanding more broadly through Britain it has accumulated the common adjective suffix "-y." Though neither the Oxford nor Cambridge dictionaries list "mankiness" as the noun, given the productivity of this suffix, there is no reason not to apply it should the occasion arise.

Suggested usage: You might not want to use this word on a job interview but it does allow you to give "dirty" and "used" a rest down at the pub. "Now, now, don't cry. Use my tissue. I'm afraid it is a bit manky. Sorry." It can also replace "out of whack" and "broken" without forcing you to the more cerebral "defective": "If you don't like this wine, your palate is manky." "Manky" provides you the luxury of a choice of unoffensive alternatives in referring to lame or disabled limbs: "a game leg" or "a manky arm" (or vice versa).

Etymology: Old French manc, manque via Scottish. Originally from Latin mancus "maimed." The underlying root is *man-ko- "maimed in the hand." Akin to English "mangle" and Sanskrit manak "little." The root, man- is the same as that in Latin manus "hand," which appears in numerous English borrowings: "manual (by hand)," "manipulate," "manuscript," "manicure," etc. (Thanks to Sabra Jones for bringing this Scottish lexical nugget to the attention of the rest of the English-speaking world.)

Manky is a wonderful word! I think I'll make it part of mt everyday vocabulary.

Volcanic ash spews from volcanos but that isn't where it comes from.

Deep inside the Earth, the original inhabitants of this corner of the galaxy are hard at work building a propulsion system. They intend to move the Earth to the binary system of Proxima-Alpha Centauri where it will be inserted into a figure 8 orbit around both stars.

Volcanic ash is a by-pruduct of their labor which they expel during eruptions.

And Whetu, as for sharing it would depend in what capacity. If you could be more specific I could ask. Or maybe I could give you her e-mail and you could ask.

Mike

It's a little known fact that woodchucks can chuck wood. Extensive studies have been done at Ruchhoeft's Really Rare Rodent Sanctuary in Wisconsin. The location is kept a secret for security reasons. Really rare rodents are very valuable, It would be a shame if someone snitched some.

Now the studies were done with the Waffle Woodchuck, known for it's vibrantly varigated vur...I mean fur.

It was found that a 2 kilogram chuck could chuck approximately 4 kilograms before retiring in restful repose.

Mike

ps. I knew you figured that. I thought it was a trivia question so I confirmed it.

Oh thank you Mike, yes I did know that I'm a teacher I know everything right? Now what still confuses me is: is the 4kg the amount chucked in a day? a week? or a lifetime? did you find that information?

One more question, ok worth 10 points:

If She sells sea shells by the sea shore, who is she? And what sea shore does she sell the sea shells at, oh and one more what kind of sea shells are they? (15 pts.)

How did Peter Piper pick pickled peppers? If the peppers were pickled they had to have already been picked.

EDIT- That's how much they chuck before they have to rest. Takes 47 minutes on average.

Is a wood chuck an animal?
Why do they have to rest after 47 minutes?
Does this have anything to do with homeostasis of organisms?

you see mike, here in Texas it gets so hot with the acid rain and all the the peppers automatically pickle to become pickled peppers while they are on the vine, thus Peter Piper had to pick the already pickled peppers from the vine in Presidio...

But, do you know how many prepickled peppers peter piper picked per say?

JQW,
Yes, a wood chuck is an animal.
They rest because they're tired.
Has nothing to do with homeostasis, Woodchucks are decidedly imbalanced from the cellular level all the way up to severe bouts of gastric distress. It's pretty icky business cleaning woodchuck cages. They are also usually deeply disturbed emotionally.

On to Peter,
If memory serves it was a peck. A peck is a quarter bushel.

A peck = 8 quarts = 537 cubic inches. Now if we assume the average pepper is 1.46702 cubic inches, he picked 365.25 or 1 for each day of the year.

The king's men, used the froth from the king's horses as a temporary adhesive. But, it was do to the temporariness of the adhesive from the froth of the king's horses, that the king's men were unable to successfully put humpty dumpty back together again. Now if the king's men had been prepared for such an unfortunate event one if not all of them would have had a tube of super glue, magnifying glass, and tweezers, and woud have been quite successful at putting humpty dumpty together again. Since they were not successful at putting humpty dumpty together again, he was unfortunate enough that he became scrambled, and Mrs. Humpty Dumpty was left to raise their dozen of egglets alone.

Now for the next question:

At what point in the witch's life from Hansel and Grettel did the witch become cannabalistic and why?

Diet Demons, the dirty little rats get into your brain a start messin with your beta endorphins.

Strangely enough, protien in 4 doses throughout the day will confuse them. Also a 1/2 of a small baked potato at bedtime upsets their stomach.

It is one of Murphy's Laws. You should continue and get the most education possible...this is where the law comes into effect...the more you get the less brain you have to think with, eventually your brain is full and you are unable to think anymore...TAAAADDDAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Next question: Why is it that you get the notice from your doctor that you need to call and talk to him about your recent blood results, the day before you have your doctor's appointment?

Soup comes in a bowl, not a dish.

Or is a bowl a dish?
Could a dish be a bowl?
Is the soup made with fish?
I think I'd rather have fowl?

So many questions.
So little time.
Now I'm confused.
And I'm typing in ryme.

Help, Mike

If one 1 is male and the other female.

We talk about fish
because if we talked about birds
we wouldn't know about plecos
and their extra long turds

It's happening again, Mike

But Mike, If the 1 male and 1 female happen to be guppies you end up with at least 35 the first month, then 70 the next month, and then 100 the third month, and say that they first 33 start breeding the fourth month, and you have equal males to females, you will have 130 (assuming the female only has about 30 a month though we know this is underestimated :%))and 17x30= 510+130 from mom (uh grandma)=640, then the next month the 2nd batch of fry start having fry to add to the 1st batches...so we have 640+510+510= 1660....oh heck 1+1 will never =3....he lost his mind up there...and so have i...next question...:%)

Why, when I started going bald, did it seem the hair that left my head sprouted elsewhere?

Mike it's isn't that you are going bald...you just need to quit tweezing, the other parts of your body where the hair is growing...because as you tweeze your hair from those places it's pulling it out of your head!!!

And I have no idea where we got that Humpty Dumpty is an egg...where did we find out that Humpty Dumpty is an egg?

Oh why is it that on the days I can sleep in I wake up early, and the days I have to wake up early I can't get out of bed?

From philosophy viewpoint, the glass is half full, cause I'm an optimistic person.
From english viewpoint, the sentence contradicts its self, therefore not possible.
From mathematics viewpoint, the solution is irrational.
From chemistry viewpoint, at this stage, an equilibrium is reached, therefore it is neither full nor empty.
From physics viewpoint, the volume of the liquid contained is halved, there fore it has less mass.

Because he was trying to grab the nuts of the other two monkeys.

I meant peanuts as snack foods....or did I?

If a spaceship lands directly in front of you and an alien walks out, which of the following statements should you NOT make?

1)"Hi, nice to meet you." (or "Jolly good to see you" if you're from a non-American English nation)
2)"Wow, that's something you don't see everyday!"
3)"HEY! You almost hit my new car! I'm about to beat the crap out of you!"

Choose wisely...consider this training in case the situation ever presents itself...

Unsure if the question was properly answered... I'd say the correct answer (what not to say) is choice 3. "HEY! You almost hit my new car! I'm about to beat the crap out of you!"
If you've ever watched 'The day the earth stood still', you'd understand why you should not take an agressive stance with a superior being.

Is it my turn?

Here's an easy one...

What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

Cause you gat another one. Hello! If you've got one moose and get another you've got two.

Mike

OOps! Just reread it and you were talking about why the plural of moose is moose. Geeze, do you have to make the ?s so complicated?

The plural of moose is moose because mooses would sound silly and mice is already taken and miice would be hard to ounce.

That's my guess, Mike

Hey FerretFish & others only just joining this thread now...

explanation;

There was a trivia thread that was really tricky. So I started this thread.

Idea is to ask a question that has a really obvious answer. The more obvious the BETTER. Basically we want to feel smart because we know the answer so you get accolades for being as pedestrian as possible.

Join in, it's funner than not knowin' stuff!

All of them. Well all of them except Sunday because sunday is sunday of course.

Why do people say, "Clean as a whistle"? Whistles, if they had been blown, would have at least a little spit in them.
If it has any spit at all, I wouldn't consider it clean.

Wrong mike...happy taste buds follow sunday!

Because you wouldnt put it in your mouth if it wasn't clean.

unless of course you're a baby, or a dog....in which case everything goes even if it doesnt make the tast buds happy!.

Question:
"If happiness runs in a circular motion
tossed like a little boat upon the sea"
then is it possible to be happy in the middle of the sahara?

But don't boil them and mash them then smother them in boiling butter....or gravy.

Also do not shread them with sharp knives or graters then fry them in hot oil...

He should have known better, if you're made out of plastic you have to be very careful around heat sources.

His bottom melted. That caused alot of problems that I won't go into. My understanding is that he made a full recovery and thankfully the scars are not usually visible. BTW his doctor was the one who pioneered the Red Hot Poker procedure for opening melted....well you get the idea.

Duh...cuz he couldn't pass Hukked On Fonix and had to know how to read in order to impress his she-fly's father...why else would any guy be paying attention to letters? Not to mention, why else would a guy have invented Alphabet soup?

So he can spell out "Will work for decent food" in his bowl...

New question... In what season does the "summer solstice" fall?
And what is the appropriate attire for this? (eg do any rules apply like white shoes and labour day etc)

Better yet, why is there a sign at McDonald's that reads, "Picture menus available"? Doesn't it seem like if you're able to read the sign then you should be able to read the word McChicken and Big Mac? Maybe it's just a test to see if anyone would be brave enough to explain that they read the sign and now they need a picture menu because they can't read...
