OK here are two more recent ones:
Yesterday Pug told me an officer had been in an awful wreck and was in bad condition in the hospital, had I spoken with my bf today? Called him in a panic, though I had talked to him until he got in the house yesterday morning :%)

Then today another bad wreck on Spencer Hwy. the main road that Pug and I both have to use, and I panic because I couldn't get ahold of her, and didn't know if she and little bit was ok. :%)

(Yes, Pug and little bit are fine, wasn't them. And yes, he was fine, and not someone from his zone.)

Oh here is another one, my bloodpressure has become so unpredictable the doctor has told me to monitor it and when it goes high for me to put myself back on the meds, and to ignor it unless it gets too much lower :%)

Ouch JB.

I was struck by a rattle snake at age 7. I stepped in a turtle hole in some sand dunes in FL. It's common for the snakes to use them as dens.

I was lucky, as the snake hit me with a dry bite. The docs think it had just made a kill prior and didn't have any venom when it struck me.

this site is full of clutzes

I have actually caught a Cat on a fishing line with the hook, please don't ask.
I broke 4 bones in my foot while walking, and mom was convinced it wasn't broke:%)
And my favorite for the day:
I have put a staple through my finger, where I needed the staple remover to remove it, while fighting with the staple to unjam it:%)
Oh and I too have had shocking experiences with my fish tanks, especially the night when the 20 drained into the livingroom, and I was trying to unplug the pumps:%)(BZZZZ daggum, what was that, BZZZZ, daggummit, I need to unplug that pump, thankfully I hadn't removed my shoes first)

Not much but here it goes.....

1) Have suffered nitrogen narcosis while diving

2) Have entered a burning building numerous times

3) Have fell through the floor of a burning building and landed in the basement

4) Have had the ceiling of a burning building fall on me

5) Have been burnt 4 times while fighting fires

6) Have lived through 2 motorcycle crashes (neither of them my fault)

7) Have seen airbags inflate while extricating a person from a car (got burned on that also by the heat of the airbag)

8) Have seen a flashover in a structure fire

Not all that unusual, but not a common thing for the average person to see/experience with most of them.

One night, I dreamt that I was given a horse with a perfect white circle on his forehead. The next day, I went with my parents to a Tennessee Walking Horse ranch, just to see the gorgeous horses. It turns out, the night before a colt had been born. He was a pretty chesnut with, yup, you guessed it. A perfect white circle on his forehead. I wanted to get him so bad, even though I knew it was really stupid and impractical. We were meant to be.

I can also bend my index fingers back to make an almost 45 degree angle with the back of my hand.

Err, I had more, and I swear I'm more interesting than this, but I've forgotten it all now.

I don't remember my snake bite because I was only 2 at the time, but the story as my mother tells it is that there was a bucket standing in long grass and I stepped into the bucket. Must have stepped on the snake too, because it lashed out and struck the bucket. Its fangs went through and hit my ankle and I screamed, mum ran over and saw what had happened, nearly fainted (especially when she saw what kind of snake it was) and rushed me to hospital.

The doctors found that no venom had actually entered my bloodstream, because the snake had ejected it all when it hit the bucket. I don't know whether they gave me antivenom or not, I imagine they would have just to be sure.

Oh yeah, speaking of crazy temperatures, when I was in Honiara (Solomon Islands off Papua New Guinea) the temperature was 48 C. Of course, in Bris summer it's not unusual for temps to hit 40 C.

*scratches head*

A pair of my underpants are currently in the Great Barrier Reef (blew away while we were walking on a jetty - I was a kid and mum had all my clothes in a pile)

I've seen a car get blown up...

I've been in a car where there was a shotgun pointed through the window at the head of the driver.

I've been in an earthquake on Vanuatu - gotta be careful of those coconuts when that happens!

I've had an electric shock from my fish tank.

I've laid in a patch of green grass in the warm sun, with butterflies flying around, wearing a t-shirt with ski pants because there was snow less than a foot from my head. I guess this must be a regular springtime thing for you folks that live in snowy places, but it struck me as rather unusual (I was at Thredbo and it was still ski season, plenty of decent snow on the slopes!)

I've started a company and bought my own place - and I just turned 22

There are probably other things that I shouldn't recount here. I had a pretty crazy teenagehood!

Hey Wish-ga, I think I can beat your record. My 20 gallon was running for almost two years with no stock, or very little stock. I actually moved between two houses, going through the entire process of emptying and refilling, and didn't add a single fish for around three months. Last time I moved, I gave away the fish and tore it down. It's sitting empty in my garage waiting for me to spend a heap of money on setting it up properly from the start.

48 C is not really that hot. It usually gets that hot at least once per summer where I'm from. I think Iltat still holds the record with 133 F beacause 48 C is "only" 118.4 F.

For you, JB, 118 is just over 56 degrees C!

I can't say that I've ever been in that kind of weather, at least that I can remember (I lived in Houston for the first 10 weeks of my life, and that happened to be in summer). I have been in 120 degree temperatures on several occasions though.

Starting from a very out-of-shape 1/4 mile at a time, I got up to running three miles in a stretch in about two weeks! Why? Well the race I was going to be in we forgot to register for, so I guess just to prove it's possible. (ie I could not physically run more than 1/4 mile at once when I started).

I have a diurnal school schedule during the week, and a nocturnal work schedule on weekends. As you might expect, Mondays are terrible for me this semester.

lol, I've gone mudding in the backs of two different pick-ups, one with a bed cover and one without...only problem was that the one without ended up dropping his front passenger tire into a hole while I was sitting in the very back driver corner and I proceeded to fly all the way up until I slammed face-first into the back window...that's ONE broken nose story...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

What a way to start off a match.

I almost got to ride in the trunk of a friend's car yesterday. :\ Another friend did instead... I called it first, but I guess he knows the driver a little better... we were fighting over it a little too The worst part is we think waaaay too alike. Maybe one day...

I have ridden in the bed of at least three different pickup trucks...

I've had the police find a dead body that they thought was my husband..

About two years ago I got a frantic phone call from my husband.. He was afraid that I'd been called by the police (he's a police officer as well) to be asked when the last time I saw him was and told that there was a possibility that he was dead..

The police found a body in one of the wooded areas around our city.. Corpse was wearing decent clothes and appeared to have been dumped.. In the front of his day planner he had my name and personal information; insurance policy numbers, phone numbers and address ~ things of that nature.. They figured that from the way the information was prominent in the book that there was a good possibility that it was my husband..

Well, they decided to call my insurance company first and ask whether or not there had been any activity regarding my policies.. When the insurance company said no, I was next on the list to be called.. However, as soon as my insurance agent got off the phone from the police, they called my husband's cell phone (we've had the same agent for years, so she knows us pretty well).. When my husband got the call, he immediately hung up with her and called home.. He beat the police officer by about 10 seconds..

Turned out that the dead man was a homeless person who'd just gotten new clothes and a good scrubbing from one of the local churches.. The day planner actually belonged to a man that had crashed into me when he blew a red light (that's why he had my insurance information and phone numbers) and it had been stolen out of his car several months before they found the body..

Anyway, I think that's probably the most unusual (creepy) thing that has ever happened to me..
