Great choices, robby,
If I have to pick one of the movies from your list it would be LAWRENCE OF ARABIA with BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER KWAI as a close second.
But my all time favorite would have to be SCHINDLERS LIST.
Tom.

The Longest Day.

An early Sean Connery was in that movie, as well.

Out of those, I'd have to pick "Patton". A close second would be "Das Boot". That movie gave me such a bad case of claustrophobia...

I love Casablanca. I had to write a paper about it last year for an English theory class.

None of the above.

The Longest Day.

One of the few war movies you have any chance of catching me watching.

"Merry Christmas Mister Lawrence"

Tom Conti, David Bowie and Takeshi Kitano are all legends

Also, an honourable mention for "Force 10 from Navarone"

From your list tho:
4)LAWRENCE OF ARABIA
and
7)THE GREAT ESCAPE
would have to be my picks

hmmmm.

Stalag 17
The Great Escape (Steve McQueen was the coolest guy ever)
Saving Private Ryan
Patton
Bridge on the Rivaer Kwai

Lawrence of Arabia wasn't a World War 2 movie, it was the first one.

Just a note of trivia [in case you ever play that game, you know, the one that is not very popular, oh whats it called ya thats it, Trivial pursuit]
In the movie Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence the man who played Capt Yonoi Mr Ryuichi Sakamoto also produced and wrote all the haunting music for the movie.
Ok,Tom put away the trivia game, and stop highjacking robby's thread.
Great movie.
And Bensaf you are of course correct L.O.A. Is WW1 missed the 2 part in original post
