Sorry... That popped into my head... I would love to try that but I'm afraid of freefall (not heights, freefall, how wierd is that...) I'm glad you had fun! Musta been some rush!

Well, it was $179.00 to do the tandem jump, plus $55.00 to get a tape (which I wanted for my first jump.)

It's so weird because it wasn't how I expected it to be at all. I still can't even believe I already did it. For one, it's sooooooo fast. It was a 15 minute plane ride up to 10,000 feet. I could not stop looking down, the view was amazing. From where I live to Niagra Falls Canada, it is over 50 miles, but from where I was in that plane, I could see the MIST from the falls. How crazy is that?! The plane was a one seater (the one seat was obviously for the piolet), but we had the piolet, me, my partner, and my videographer in there, so it was a littl cramped. And it was LOUD!
As soon as my videographer opened the door, the whole plane got soooo cold! As it was, it was a chilly kinda day. Anyways...The videographer stepped out of the plane and hung onto the wing waiting for me. I, with my partner strapped to my back, stepped up to the door. We put our left foot on a step outside the plane and sat on our right knees hanging out. He rocked me back and forth three times, and we jumped!!
It was nothing like tou'd think. I imagined I'd get that awsome jumpy stomach feeling, like when you're in a rollarcoaster, but I didn't! In fact, it felt like I was sitting still. The only ways I could tell I was moving was the noise of the air (and boy was it LOUD!), the feeling of the air parting around me (weird huh?), and the ground coming closer and closer to me.
When I jumped, I jumped into a layer of clouds. I couldn't see the ground. Then all of a sudden it was there! Holy crow LoL. I free fell for 35 seconds. I fell for 6,000 feet, and we were moving at 120 miles per hour. It was so fast!
Then my partner opened our chute, and I was yanked back up into the air as the chute filled with air and opened up. What followed was the clearest silence I have ever heard. I have never been so peaceful. We rode the chute down at 25 miles per hour for 4,000 feet, and it took about 6-7 minutes.
I landed on my feet, but my partner's feet got twisted and we both fell. Neither of us was hurt, and it was acctually quite funny on tape.
My instructor said I was the smallest person he had ever jumped with. He said he forgot I was even there I was so light. The harness they had me in was the smallest they had, and when we landed, I fell out of it !!! (Oh, and my partner had a hangover ...my dad jumped in Florida four years ago, and all the people there had hangovers too! It must be the lifestyle.)
All in all, it was the greatest experience ever! Me and my boyfriend (Sesshoumaru on here) are planning on doing a jump together. I can't wait to get up there again!

I hate even climbing a ladder to get onto the roof of my house! I am afraid of heights, serverely!

I would love to skydive, but would be too scared to do it...

Yaya Brandi, I knew you'd love it!

Yeah Daniel, it can be a bit expensive but as Brandi has discovered, well worth it!

There are advantages and disadvantages to the static line vs tandem options. That freefall you get with tandem is incredible! But I chose static line because I wanted to fly by myself without some guy strapped to my back (a comment on life perhaps? )

On my second jump my lines got twisted so I had to do a mid-air untwist before the chute would open fully and I could steer etc. Nothing like taking your life into your own hands to give you an adrenaline rush!

Definitely an addictive hobby. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Yeah. That was a little weird....I was in the tiniest plane, only one group at a time could go up because it was so small. You can not imagine how hard it is to move around in a plane that size when you're 104 lbs with a huge guy strapped to your back LOL.

OH................MY................GOD!!!!!!!

That had the be the COOLEST thing I have ever done!!! I am sooooooooooooooo going again. Talk about addicting!
I wanted to go back and do it as soon as my feet touch the ground.
The only bad thing was that my one ear didn't pop until about an hour and a half after the jump, so it hurt really bad.
Wow, it was nothing like I expected it to be, you just can't conjure up in your mind something so awsome.
Anyways, my FP friends, I made it down safe obviously, and had a great time. Next time I'll get digital pics to share

Tomorrow at 3:00 pm I will be SKYDIVING!!!!! I cannot wait! I have wanted to do this since I was 14, but they wouldn't let me until I turned 18, so this is my very late birthday present. I'll check in after I touch ground to let everyone know how it all went.
Wish me Fun!!!
Brandi
