Calilasseia *Ultimate Fish Guru* Panda Funster Posts: 5496 Kudos: 2828 Votes: 731 Registered: 10-Feb-2003 | My first thought upon seeing the pic (and before reading the accompanying post) was that it was a close up photo of some strange mineral conglomeration - probably lapis-lazuli em However, since the inference gained from the post is that this is a satellite photo, my guess is that it's a shot of one of the Blue Holes. Which are VERY popular with scuba divers, because they have quite an interesting fauna all of their own. The Blue Holes are actually collapsed caverns that formed below the sea floor, and which, because the opening in the sea floor usually leads to a sort of teapot-shaped chamber inside, appear very deep ultramarine blue and contrast sharply with the surroundings. There are some inland 'Blue Holes' on some of the islands of the West Indies too, which make their strange nature very immediately apparent when one discovers that some of them are in fact filled with marine water, and are directly connected to the sea. Jacques Cousteau explored a few of these in his television series from long ago. If Adam and Babelfish are planning a scuba dive in one of these holes, allow me to make a recommendation - do NOT venture into them without at least four other 'dive buddies' who are experienced cave divers, and make sure you have PLENTY of guide rope to help you find your way back to the surface. The ease with which the inexperienced can become totally disoriented and lost in the Blue Holes is frightening. So, it is a Blue Hole? |

He didn't mean the copyright was blocking his view, he meant that the copyright, as being part of the whole picture (puzzle), was confusing him also, as it was for the rest of us. .......................... My guess on new picture is fiberglass. |
