Heh funny florite story....well as funny as mineral stories get ...anyway Master Adam and I were @the smithsonian and saw the florite display, I commented "woah that's what floride comes from?!" And steve urkles understudy who happened to be nearby comments "that's floride not florite"
Here I am thinking 'm'kaaaaaaaay what are kids coming to these days that they're condicending to strangers!'. Not more then two steps away was a sign saying that florite is where floride comes from.
I was tempted to go and grab the kid and stick his nose in it. Good thing I didn't...the FBI might decide to not process my fingerprints!.

Anyone remember those little window decorations we had as kids a few decades ago...where there were the little wax beads that you put into a glass and metal frame then put in the oven and baked and got a sunlight catcher ? That's what that looks like .

Did I just state how old I was .
