Tanya81 Fish Addict Posts: 633 Kudos: 419 Votes: 37 Registered: 27-Jun-2003 | I beg to differ bleeder! My husband had his 4 blood red parrot fishes for 4 years, and gave them up to pursue a different set up for his aquarium! They were supurb and extremely healthy, even laid eggs(even though they were fertile!) SO........use your statement as an opinion! 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair) |

Bleeder Fish Addict Posts: 739 Kudos: 50 Registered: 16-Apr-2001 | Honestly so Tanya. I will reserve my views as an opinion, but then again, you sound like an experienced fishkeeper. Perhaps those found here are inbred so often that they are susceptible to diseases and poor water conditions. They are definitely not the kind of fishes for beginners... He's taken down the pics of the offspring, but blood parrots can definitely spawn and have fertile eggs. |
