But the console games I have seen, cos they do run a console room at the lans I go to, all seem to have much less precise aimability than the PC version.

I disagree. Analog sticks work far better than mouse scrolling, IMO.

I disagree. Iron sights are still the way to go.

I see little or no difference between the precision on consoles vs on the PC.

It depends on what you play. It's not that the control (be it thumb stick or mouse) isn't precise, it's that you havn't been used to the controls the way they are. Sometimes I game on the PC for a month or so without even turning my console on and when I do start to play the console again, the joystick aim has a very funny feel to it and it takes some getting used to. It also works the other way around. I do find that the mouse is easier to get used to than the thumb stick though.

It's not the precision, persay. Rather, the ease of utilizing an analog-s as opposed to a mouse. For me, D.A. config>>>>mouse.

I'd rather have pc games period. but nintendo is still king. their the longest running company to keep their hardware and software STILL popular over 20 years. and honestly? nintendo is STILL the only one that is truely focused on console based gaming. everybody else is to worried about letting you play dvds or this or that. IMO, who cares, thats what why i have a stand alone dvd player... and if you can afford one of them 360s? you can surely have already been able to afford a dvd player. but honestly. the 360s is just a low end computer in a fancy box. And I'll hit on Perfect Dark, one of the 360s launch games (i think, i dont follow it fully), let you people NOT forget WHO had it first.... Nintendo 64, look it up. Just another software company who forgot its roots (caughmetalGearcaugh)


but i'll be getting a revolution just for the ability to play the old games, the ones that helped get the games of today where they are.

but unfortunetly, this is one of them useless fight that wastes time and will never end.

as far as mario.... I got 2 things for you.
1. KART RULES! and its being proved, everybodys making games based off it. The new versions are good, but give me the original mario kart anyday.

2. Mario owns everybody. if you shown people ranging in age a pic of mario and the master chief, i guarantee you more people will be able to identify mario over the chief

Actually I am not sure, never owned an xbox an nor will I since its lifeline is Halo a game which I despise. I love PS. and well the Revolution control is umm... retarded. I will get PS3 regardless.

Really? Let's go back to uh, Chrono Trigger, Mario Kart, Earthbound, Puyo Puyo, SSMB, FF4 and 6, not to mention the original lot, Super Metriod, ZOOT (and the whole series as well), LTTP, Goldeneye, The Castlevanias (snes/ds/gba ones), SMB3, Legend of the Seven Stars, Tetris, The Wars, Fire Emblem Saga, Punch Out, Super Bowl...wow, nothing good indeed. And that's just off the top of my head.

Lol, let's call anything innovative that doesn't involve spilling guts all over the place childish. Case in point: PSP and DS. I like how people call the DS a "kiddie" system due to the release of nintendogs when the PSP is so obviously inferior, not only in terms of battery life, but due to lack of depth of games, sony's infringement upon one of the PSP's greatest features (ability to emulate and ROMplay), and a controller system that, though cool, hardly holds a flame to the tested and true D pad of lore. MKDS>>>GTA, I'm sorry, but it be true. Or as the PSP would say; "it be tru"---*runs out of batteries*.


Revolution, hands down. Being able to be backwards compatible to every previous system including the SNES, which was the best console ever, N64, which basically introduced the staples of 3D gameplay, amongst others, not to mention it'll be more afforable than either of the next gens, makes it golden. Keep in mind it's also previous controller compatible, thus you don't have to use the odd controller that comes standard with the rev. If they get a 64 attachment it'll rock.

good thing i bought like 3 x box 360, and sold them, really price wise, i dont expect ps3 to be as much, or take the market by storm like 360 did. but who knows, maybe like 360 they will only make 3 million. but if u a retailer 360 was the way to go, with all the stuff that u need to buy. these system itself is like 399 but everything else in the packages make the price go up.

the only thing i saw and didn't like with the ps3 is the controller, it looks way to futuristic. and i dont like the long handles,

but in the ps vs x-box i myself am a ps person owning 3 ps2 and 2 psp. compared to the x-box that i played maybe 5 times and put it back into the box.(strange really b/c i have more x-box games than ps2) lol!

with the psp, yea u kinda need to buy upgrades for everything, the value pack doesn't really cut it. i needed up buying all kindas stuff includeing a 1 gb memory for 100, but when i bought my new white psp with the giga pack it came with a 1 gb memory and it was only 30 dollars more than the value pack. wish i saw this b4.

But apperantly some Xbox fans insisit on playing halo, so they have to have an Xbox just for that game because it isn't out on PC. I think that's the only way that Microsoft is keeping Xbox sales up

Xbox 360, Play Station 3 or Nintendo Revolution?

Just want to know.

New ps3 looks like a cool machine, ive got an alienware so an xbox seems irrelevant, and sorry if this mortally wounds anyone but I find a lot of nintendo stuff a bit kiddy too. You can only jump so many platforms and collect so many little shiny things in one lifetime without cutting your wrists.

Despite having a top of the line pc and laptop I still like games machines though. Its just well... easier.

And playstation genre games still beat the hell out of most of the others, the sheer choice is staggering next to the other consoles, and generally we get the games the other consoles have anyway.

can i vote for 2 ?

i say the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are two very equally matched consoles.

The genre argument is a tough one to crack, and may be applicable to ps versus xbox, but nintendo has an entirely different focus on their games, so it's hard to get away with the argument that the ps exceeds nintendo in games. Sorry, just not true.

I've never heard of anyone else talking about Colecovisions before. I had one of those for years and years - I still played it even after I got a Sega Master System (which was, of course, the hottest thing out then). My favourite games were Smurfs, Adventure and Carnival. In fact, I think the thing is still clunking around at my nana's place somewhere, in working condition.

And given the dirty tricks Sony have pulled in the music market of late (you mean you haven't heard of their "copy protection software" on music CDs that's one step removed from a virus? Over which they're being sued? in a class action?) I wouldn't touch anything with the Sony name on it now with a 40 foot barge pole. They've flushed their reputation well and truly down the toilet as far as i'm concerned, and all in the name of corporate greed. Oh, the best part about their "copy protection" on their music CDs is that it totally screws up on Sony's own high-end CD players, but a Pioneer CD player will play the same CDs without a hitch ... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ...

yeah id go with that, their machines are good , but their company ethos sucks. Mind you the way microsoft is going youll have to call a helpline just to activate any game you buy from them soon.It probably wont be free either.

We've got maybe what 6 or 7 gaming systems in the house right now.

Yep back in the day nintendo ruled and then square soft left them for sony. That to me was the end of nintendo. Sure I still own a regular nintendo, super nintendo and yep even their gamecube. Yeah I remember games like chrono trigger, heck I own it. But that was back in the day when a role playing game maker would go to nintendo. Now most of those games come out on the PSII. I have never found so many different neat games for a single playing system since the days of nintendo 15+ years ago.

If you want to talk old school with the consoles I own and enjoy the heck out of an intellivision. It is what I had as a kid, an atari too but intellivision was funner.

So back to the thread at hand, well sure Microsoft is getting a lot of hype, but I look at our dusty xbox and the less than 15 cool games we found in the last few years that we wanted to play on it some of which are available on PSII no less and I know we won't be wasting money on the xbox360. For our playstation II we literally have well over 150 games. The game makers that we prefer and the kind of games we play pretty much stick with Sony so we will be too. Can't wait for my PSIII to come out

and on the note of the nintendo system being backwards compatible if that is true, we might buy one just to save some shelf space and pack up the other 3 systems

it wont be able to play the older cartiges. but i'm hearing the gamecube disks are playable, and the older, NES, SNES, possible N64 games will be downloadable to the console from nintendo. still waiting on the price. rumor was around 250 as of late

I think the areas that people enjoy gaming are different so I go for what I liked most about gaming, the online element. I like being able to scream and shout with my friends online, no I am not a Halo supporter, I play other online FPSes any day. So far PS3 has not given any indication of online play support so... I am looking forward to the 360 over here. I hope they don't delay it.

Oh yeah, for the record, Square Enix has moved its support over to the 360 so I think we can be looking forward to some slick FF type games soon.

Well that's just my opinion though...

Oh and to add on, the Revolution is my next console that I would get if I can afford it. They do such great party games. Yeah it might look kiddish but things that are adult aren't much fun anyway.
