I have the option of getting a 40g fishonly w/live rock sw tank or a pair of bearded dragons.

Its a very hard choice. What do you think?

I'd go with the bearded dragons myself.

Beardies could be fun.

have you had reptiles or SW before?

more info!! what do you like? what other pets do you have? how much time do you have to devote?

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

a 40 is too small for beardies. Good starter tank tho...

bearded dragons are boring...

All they do is sit there still all day.

I was under the impresion that you were getting a tank or some lizards:%). If you were going to put the lizards in the 40 then I say go for the marine setup.

Get some crested geckos. They are awesome and are one of the most mellow climbing geckos.

I agree with victimizati0n on that BD's are kinda boring. Look for a Tegu or a Monitor if you want a realy cool lizard.

On the otherhand, I'd think 40g to be a bit small for stable SW reef tank.

black throat monitors and nile monitors are cool, but outgrow a 40 gallon by a few feet

Get a couple leopard geckos. Non-arboreal and very docile. Theyre easy to tame and handle. Just make sure you dont have 2 males. I just got an albino LG today and am very pleased
