Whoooooooo Wants A PS3? | |
sirbooks Moderator Sociopath Posts: 3875 Kudos: 5164 Votes: 932 Registered: 26-Jul-2004 | Not me. I can't justify paying the retail price for a video game system that comes with bugs as the primary feature. And it has a Blu-Ray DVD thing... so? Ain't going to do anything for me. I just can't get over why so many people go nuts over a system that doesn't really do anything by the release date. At least wait until the prices go down (stupids), good exclusive games come out, and the kinks have been fixed. Seriously. Same thing for the Xbox 360 when it came out. People just don't have sense. |

That's a relatively good dea, IMO. |

Me I wait until the next best thing comes out, then buy last years model that went down in price by at least 1/4th. It's about making money for some though. There was a guy close to me here that hired 5 or 6 people to be with him when a store that had them opened up so he had a good chance of getting a couple. He told the news he was going to sell them for like 2000.00 on e-bay! Sheesh! "Talk is cheap. Action can be almost as affordable" |

Next time the wave of new systems comes out, I need to pick the most hyped one, preorder like five of them, and sell them all for a big profit. I can't believe I didn't do that this time. |

Which will probably be a $5 shareware item. If your PC is a dual boot and has Linux installed, chances are you'll be able to get a freeware emulator in time. I just found no less than THREE freeware PS2 emulators here. So if I ever fancy playing PS2 games, I can do so at far lower cost. More money for me to spend on fish. |

ALL on pc first. console games just got way to confusing and take to long to figure everything out. mouse/keyboard is much faster to learn. but yes, calilasseia is right. weeks, maybe days... only time till their hacked also Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

I'm with you on the emulators being easy to find, but anything after n64 or ps1 starts sucking the life out of your computer when you try to run a game. And that's even when your freeware doesn't contain spyware. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

But as for that McDonald's thing, that sounds pretty cool. I would pay for like $100 worth or whatever of postage stamps and envelopes to get a free PS3. $600 dollars is a ripoff though, even if it is better than XBox 360 and that Nintendo thing... It's twice the price of PS1 and PS2 when they first came out. So did the guy just send in SASEs to McDonald's and get a buttload of Monopoly pieces back? I should try that. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Also the one console he sold went for 1,700. That's ridiculous. On the plus side, we can now play tales of the abyss for great justice. |

My most recent upgrade failed in a fairly spectacular way, so I'm now spending a silly amount of money on a new PC with no guarantee that'll work. At least with a console you plug it in and it's done ------------------------------------------------- I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. zachf92 Big Fish Posts: 343 Kudos: 255 Votes: 233 Registered: 31-Dec-2005 | But can you write a post to FishProfiles on a console? Actually, yes. Back when my computer was broken, I often used the internet browser on my PSP to go onto FP and write posts. All you need is a wireless router and you can go on just about any website. You can even save pictures and download files. The only downside is that, even with high-speed cable internet, it is very slow (although its probably faster than dial-up), so you have to have a great deal of patience. |
