yup, entertainment of all kinds. but i already have that. if i buy a video game console, i want to use it for just exactly that, video games.

internet? i have 2 pcs.
movies? got a 7.1 surround sound entertainment system
cds of any quality? see above 2 devices.

ok so ps3 has blu-ray. ok, so just wait a bit till the prices come down, then add that to the entertainment systems.

Yes I know they all have their better than. but I'm sorry $500? I've got more important things in my life to spend my money on. I'll wait a while then buy it.

IMO, Nintendo will always be king, no matter who has the latest and greatest and trying to bring in the newest whatever. Nintendo has its eyes and ears to focus on what works. Just look at that controller... Lets see how long before others steal that concept.

Blu-Ray is the next generation of media format that is basically a DVD in high definition. The term 'blu-ray' comes from the color of the laser used to read/write the discs. The color blue has a shorter wavelength, and is able to read and write much smaller bits of data on a disc, and the smaller it is the more of it you can put in a defined space. Where DVD's can hold up to 4.7gb (single layer) to 9.4gb (dual layer) of data, a Blu-ray disc can support 25gb (single) to 50gb (dual layer). This enormous added capacity makes Blu-Ray discs the way to go if you have a very intense game, a movie you want to put extra things on, and they're interactive (not that CD's aren't, but hey).

There is also the HD-DVD which is basically the same thing, but it has a smaller capacity (15-30gb) and sponsored by toshiba, vs sony for the blu-ray.

It seems blu-ray has the upper edge right now.

Difficult to say, as the added cost, at this time, is just not worth it in many instances, not to mention that relatively few companies have fully converted.

i waited 1 1/2 days out side of gamestop and got a ps3. Sold it the very next day11/18.

the trick is if they only have 10, sell it to the 11 person in line, as they waited and dont want to go home empty handed.

As for x-box360, i won a core system at Dave and Busters about a month after the release date last year, i ended giving it to a friend of the family's son, but this is where everyone learned to jack up the prices.

kinda makes sense, pay 400-500 and sell it at 1000-2000.

I was looking for a pure white ps3, as was advertised about 4-9 months b4 the release date. So when the 60gb black and silver came out, i wasnt to happy. I always been a big playstation fan, my x-boreg) is back in the original box, hence no desire for an x 360. I get your point about the bugs, so hopefully when the next shippment comes out(they better have the 3 different colors) i will get another ps3.

As for the WII, i guess the only thing i dont like about it, is the look of the controllers, or sticks.

I only really play one game for my playstation and it cost me alot of money,

Socom, Socom 2 game, Playstation HDD, Socom 2 game(another disk), Sony Head Set, Sony Internet adaptor, New playstation (slim, which you cant use the HDD or the internet adaptor)Socom 3 game, Another mic, sony PSP, socom fire team bravo, Socom fireteam bravo 2, Socom: Combined assault game. Alot of stuff for one game. Curse those socom creators.
