Winter Doldrums - Northern Hemisphere | |
OldTimer Mega Fish USAF Retired Posts: 1181 Kudos: 1294 Votes: 809 Registered: 08-Feb-2005 | I just hate winter. Not so much the colder weather, but the fact it is just dark so early in the day and the sun comes up too late in the morning. I'm not much for winter type sports or activities so that probably plays a big part of it, but I have no enthusiasm to do much of anything in the winter. I'm pretty much an outdoors person the rest of the year, so being cooped up in the winter is just a killer for me. I guess I need to tough it up and get into more cold weather activities, but I just have no enthusiasm for it. How about the rest of you, do you hate winter or love it. Jim |

I don't like being cold though, so I stay inside as much as possible. During the summer when it's so hot here I complain about the heat too. So what I really want is just Spring or Fall, forget Summer & Winter. Maybe what you get is S. A. D. Seasonal Affective Disorder? |

It kind of makes it tough to do anything outside since it usually is super cold here. (this winter not included). I did do an ice water rescue training last winter that was fun. Of course breaking through the ice and swimming in the lake in Jan/Feb and being toasty warm at the same time is always a good thing. ~ Mae West |

But I'm near Detroit and haven't seen any snow this year. Well I'm wrong, like an inch in November I think, but it only lasted like an hour. Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

We've had no snow yet it's supposed to be 70° on Sunday! My kids were outside playing in shorts during the Xmas break! ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |
