LOL I had a 10 day guest pass then bought full version last week. Already Lev 17 and in a Guild, yet learning my way around still. Some servers down right now, patch issues. Thought I'd stop in while suffering serious withdrawal. Inko, I'd try your game I'm sure it's great, but WoWing leaves no time for it ! Have you tried WoW ? Not 1,2, or 3, but WoW ? *zooms off to check server status The Amazon Nut... |

For me, the old ones are the best, and I stick to Operation Flashpoint - I love that game! That's the problem with wow though, Cory. It's just like drugs, you get curious, so you try it. DaMossMan Fish Guru Piranha Bait Posts: 2511 Kudos: 2117 Votes: 359 Registered: 16-Nov-2003 | ACIDRAIN has a good point. Before WoW, all I played was first person shooters, usually a Ubisoft title. I didn't try BF2 but heard it was pretty rad. I didn't like rpg's before. Like this one though I like alot of older games too. WoW would be a good game to wean your kids off the more violent FPS games, but more addictive. The Amazon Nut... |

ACIDRAIN Moderator Posts: 3162 Kudos: 1381 Votes: 416 Registered: 14-Jan-2002 | I have played just about all the games out there for PC. My two favs are BF2 and AOE II & III. Great thing about BF2, is up to 64 play live together (two teams) at the same time. Also, very realistic in the way the weapons are used, as well as the diversity of vehicles and movements. As well as you are not only keeping track of your own score, but you win as a team thing in the end. There is always a bigger fish... |

ACIDRAIN Moderator Posts: 3162 Kudos: 1381 Votes: 416 Registered: 14-Jan-2002 | I just find it more realistic. If you have a good sound system, you can hear the chopper and know what direction it is coming in from, or any vehicle or even a person running up behind you. The whole set up is so realistic. From the different types of set ups you can be as a person; medic, mechanic, special opps, sniper, etc. And you get points for using your specialized function in the game. Even when you are the Commander of your team, which is not an easy task, as many people quickly learn. It takes much practice to learn to fly a helicopter or one of the different jets. They all fly different as well, depending on the civ they come from. There are just so many different varients in the game, that are always changing, depending on many other things going on. In the end, to me, it is just so realistic, and that is what makes it such a hard challenge. I have well over 500 hours (probably closer to 1000) into playing the game, and just now I am usually in the top 5 scorers. But about a fourth of the time, I score lower. I only play on the big servers. In the next couple weeks though, I am planning on playing on the ranked servers. Here you make rank and keep it forever. And with rank comes unlocked more powerful weapons. Which opens up a whole another can of worms to discuss, lol. It is just my fav for now. I am sure there will be something come out in the next year or two that will take me away from this as well. There is always a bigger fish... |
