3. You wonder how your friends fish is recovering, and they live in a different country.

4. You spend $800. on car repairs, then when you're broke, you scrape up $$$ to upgrade your lighting, add CO2, get melafix, hikari pellets... and so on... and buy another plant. Then kick yourself for forgetting check valves and a test kit.

5. Have you ever told a LFS owner off ? Told a LFS employee something "basic" that they did not know ?

6. You tell the LFS owner, if I come back here again within a month I'll get disowned...

7. The girls working checkout in the LFS start looking mighty attractive.

8. You haven't washed your car for 2 months, but you've done something to/in your tank every other day.

9. You make a "funny fishy face" when you kiss someone..

10. You start looking at your parents forest as a possible source of driftwood..

Your parents ask you the scientific name of every fish in your tank, just so they can snicker at you because you can't help but tell them...

Everytime you walk past the office across the hall from yours, you stare at the tank on the desk, even though it's only a 5 gallon with a couple of swordtails...

When you are told that you will be moving into said office, the first thing you ask is 'Will the fish stay here?'

You can accurately judge the capacity of most tanks and/or containers which might hold water...in US gallons, even though you are Australian...

You can't think in anything but gallons and inches, because you spend most of your time talking fish with Americans on FP!

Me too. I'll say a tank capacity in gallons and BF says, ok in proper terms now, so I'll say how many feet, and then he goes, no we use the metric system here, litres please.

OK how bout...when mates come over and check out the fish tanks...and while they're not looking you inconspicuosly use your shirt to wipe off the water change stains from earlier that morning. Even when theres a towl at arms reach.
Or when you lose a fish and have a burial. With a minutes silence out of respect.
Mabe we can dedicate a day to all the fish that have met with death?

A few nights ago, I actually had a nightmare that all of the filters on my tanks were catching on fire...lol...and I was trying to put out the fires.

you dream that you are going to get a new fish that you are pretty certain doesnt actually exist but you want to make sure, but then you can't remember the name of it, grrrr. It was such a cool fish too, it got to about 4 foot long, lived in rivers, it was called a river d___ and ate in a similar way to a baleen whale, it would take in big mouthfuls of water and then squooshes the water out through vents in the bottom of his mouth and is left with the food. And I was going to have 3 of theese. Now how cool would that have been?

you look for the LFS when you are on holiday...then say u aren't coming back when you don't find it....that may only apply to remote westcoast towns in NZ

...when you're still replying to a thread that was made 6 months ago...

(1) Rather than concentrate on a current dilema at work, you are thinking about new Aquascaping ideas. Or contemplation of an "Aquascaping Diary Of A New Tank" concept to keep everyone posted on the 'Net of your progress.

(2) You think about tanks you have saw and try to figure ways to improve them.

(3) Restocking tanks over and over again until you can almost see it in front of you.

(4) Realizing you are a Fish-a-holic and need help.

Wow... I hardly realized I posted this six months ago! Pretty crazy.

You have another "fishy nightmare" and have to spend time convincing yourself that the Diamond Tetras are going to be fine because while the fish in the nightmare were shiny and silver, they were obviously not Diamond Tetras....

When you get plants in the mail (@the office) and can't wait to open the box so you do...right there....getting water all over the mixer and keyboard ....then promply set up a Water Change bucket with light and the plant cause you just don't have the time to put them in the tank right then....but still wanna see them....

when you are on a forum with two threads about how obsessed by fish you are and one is "you may be obsessed..." and the other "You know you are obsessed..." and you can only think of replies for the "you know..." one.

1. When you draw fish in your note book and are able to tell exactally what species they are.

2.You are up set because the store put a sea horse and a goldfish and coral and angel fish all on the same cake.

3. When all you want for christmas and your birthday is a aquarium.

4.When you miss your fish because you have not seen them in a day. and you do not miss your sisters that you have not seen for a year.

5. You stop because you see a aquarium light in a persons house and try to see what they have in it.

6. When you watch a show to see the fish in the background.
(I have done all of this stuff)

When you meet someone at a party and go back to their house to look at their fish.

When you bleach and then dechlorinate your own hands in between feeding each fish in case you spread something.

My right hand looks about 50 years older than my left, has about half the skin and is swelled to about twice the size. But I've stopped all the diseases in my betta tanks!

Or when you crash your car and decide to buy a new 20 gallon and a new 4 gallon ad a new female betta and choose to walk everywhere instead.

when u go to the lfs just to look at there fish(not buy just look)....everyday(i did that for a week then stopped when my grades dropped below a B)

You are almost ecstatic about having a reason to get a new tank that's even larger. Even if it means that you had to clean 20 gallons of fishy water from the living room floor.

Did ya'll know that in times of panic, you can keep your fish in a plastic storage bucket. And I know it wasn't the right thing to do, but the tank was empty, and a net wouldn't work, but my hands did quite well at catching those goldfish and pleco. (Johnathan Patrick; pleco; was quite irate by this move, but was happy to be back in the water.)

hmm....when u think more about fish than school work at school. when u move ur fish to ur new tank to make room in the old so it will be not as closed to overstocked and be able to add more cory's to have a complete school because u didnt know they needed 6 hmm....sounds like me [end of rant] o and u are worried about other peoples fish and are constantly talking about fish to ur friend during school this sounds A LOT like me
