When your partner pouts and says "I think you love those fish more than you love me"

MaN I had dreams where your at a petstore looking at fish but your actually dreaming and my room smells like the fish store "love the smell" Or you go at a friends house and get on his computer to go to fish profiles lol! or even when you have $2.00 extra you go to the lfs to see what you can buy for $2.00!!! LOL!

You are obssessed with fish like me when you just can't stop trying to convince the husband that a full wall 24 ft long basement tank would look nice enough not to detract from the value of the home. He just doesn't believe me *sigh*

Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn.

Koi, you'll have to tell him that you can put it up for a month or so and see how he likes it ]

Or when you just go out and buy as many tanks as I have, just because you like fish. . . .

Calla - I have the same problem with my LFS. I walk in & get " Hi Sin, hows that ___ you bought last week going? We're getting some of those ___ you were asking about in next week. Hows work going? " Not good.

* Your lfs asks YOU what stock they should order in.

* When people think you have a thing for the lfs man, when sadly it's the fish.

I forgot about this one; When you lfs owner actually invites you to join him on vacation!

We both SCUBA and we catch fish to bring back to sell. I have had a few nice free vacations this way.

One more to add (me this morning)- you run around the house celebrating and dancing because, after 2 hours, you finally figured out how to get the piece of zucchini to sink to the bottom of the tank
You stay up until 12:01 on the 15th day just so you can be the first one to update your quiz score

The search is screwed. You can barely find anything.

and yeah the search is horrid, most of the time I spend all day looking thru all the posts, then give up and post the question anyway....

You go away and miss them more than the people you live with

The search works beter when you put an asterix followed by one word you wand followed by an aserix eg

I also always will spot a tank on a tv show or comercial. Also once you spend more money on them than on you. Its all in good fun tho.

You find yourself doing water changes for fun, and can't find another plant to poor the water on, so you attack your neighbor's plants with the "sushi water".

You refer to them by name, and get upset when your closest friend can't keep them straight.

You tell your other pets to be nice to their sisters and brothers.

You wonder whatelse you can shove in a goldie's tank that they will eat.

And my favorite:

You spot fish in commercials and movies and name every species and reason that there are too many fish in them.

Who saw Jungle 2 Jungle? They were talking about paying a hefty amount on some cichlids we could probably get for a lot cheaper.

that greenish glow goes for me too!

And the utter stress when i see the libra ad on telly, of this goggle eyed goldie who is stressed because he lives under the packet of pantyliners... nobody thought about his TINY bowl with the milky water did they now ???

Yes, I must admit I know the feeling of the green glow...Try explaining to you new neighbors why there is this weird glow coming from your bedroom...Really it is a 29 gallon fish tank...It's the grow out tank before they go to the lfs...really...I still don't think he believes me...

I have fishy nightmares..

That my hatchets will find a way out..

That the fish I've just ordered from my LFS are actually mutants that will grow 10 times their actual size....and that they'll cost me so much more...

I've had sleepless nights, waking up in fear that my tanks will leak and water will find a way into my power points...


Other obsessive symptoms include...

My eyes being able to speed-locate the word "fish" or "tank" on a full page of newspaper classifieds...(Read on a daily basis..)

Doing water changes in the middle of the night...(I can't sleep unless I can remember a water change being done in the last 3 days..)

Considering becomming a glazier.

I think its when your house smells with vinegar or a winery...live cultures..so stink.

.......when you have more t-shirts with fish on them than not. ........when you fix meals for yourself that you know you can also feed to your fish.
