hmmmm...i like one thing about my full name..(Joel Andrew Mason) my initials spell J.A.M
The thing i don't like however, is my rather unusual First Name (Joel) most people can't ounce it properly, and call me Jo-el, as opposed to the proper ounciation, Joel, (one syllable) [sp]

anyway...that's it

I was named Michelle Dawn. Most people call me Chel (ounced like shell). I hated my name as a kid because it was overly common. I was always one of at least 3 Michelles in class. Now that I am older I don't jump when people holler "MICHELLE!" in a crowd. If they call me by that name, chances are I don't know them enough for them to be trying to get my attention.
When I was 9 though, I had a dream that I was an adult, and had a beautiful baby girl, named Roycera (roy-sara) Angelia. That name stuck. If I have children they will not be named zappa names, but they won't be common either.

I like my name a lot - Talina, ounced Tah-lee-nah if you say it slower, but more like t'lee-nah if you say it Aussie . It is unusual, especially in this country, because it's got Native American origins. Most people don't pick it up the first go, they think it's Selina - I can't count the number of times I've said 'No, with a 'T''! People often spell it that way too - 'Telina' or 'Telena'. Often I'd just answer to whatever people wanted to call me, especially if they weren't someone I knew too well or were likely to see again, like a salesperson or something. I had plenty of nicknames too - 'Tal', 'Tally', 'Tina' - which my parents still sometimes call me, and 'Tae' (Tay), which is used more often than my real name by most of my friends. I always liked having an unusual name, I never got confused with anyone else at school, though I was always upset as a kid when I'd see keyrings or plates or whatever with names on them, and mine was never there!

I spelt my middle name wrong for years - 'Marie', and one day Mum saw me write my name and pointed out that it's actually 'Maree' . Thanks for the tip Mum!

My last name, 'McKenzie', undeniably shows my Scottish heritage, so I like it as well, although again people usually get it wrong and spell it 'Mac', or they don't make the 'c' small and in superior position and the 'K' a capital - okay now I'm just getting picky :%).

So now I've put my full name out on the Internet, ah well it's around the place anyway. One thing with a name like mine, when I Google myself I only get things related to me!

The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. - Oscar Wilde

As a kid I HATED my first name (Danielle). I don't know why, I just did. I have a cousin, Michelle, and my grandma would constantly mix up our names. Now that I'm older, I appreciate the fact that I was named after my grandpa, Daniel. My first year of college people started calling me Dani and I love that.

There's a funny story about how I got my middle name (Marie). My mom didn't have a middle name picked out, and the doctor came to my grandma asking if she knew my middle name so they could finish my birth certificate. She simply said "How about Marie?" Luckily my mom agreed later.

I HATE my last name (Jacob). Jacob isn't very common, but Jacobs is. My entire life I've had to tell people to take off the S after they'd written it. I always tell them "There's only one of me."

I like my name.

Its just Abbey btw, NOT Abigail. I had a maths teacher in HS, Ms Jesuthasan (we called her Ms Jesu) and she insisted on calling me Abigail, for over 6 months... Liike my parents made some sort of lowly mistake in not completing my name??

erg, in the end i just didnt answer her, she turned rather red in the face, but she very rarely tried to get me to answer to it again.

My middle names are "Erin Anne" Anne was my great grandmothers name. Apparently its hard to say Abbey Anne so they stuck erin in there... but i don't like Erin. All my other names are fine, but Erin irks me.

So yes, i like my name, and no i wouldn't change it. Its part of me, it contains all the good hopes my parents had for me. It feels right

And as for spelling, i usually get Abi, Abbey, Abby or Abbi before i get the correct spelling of Abbey

Do I like my name....yes and no.

Not inherantly difficult to spell or or ounce however there is one problem which I hate.....

the little fact that my name is printed on toilet roll dispenser the world over. I got called bog roll most of my childhood.

It is not either my first or second name that is the problem it is the combination of the two which causes the problem.

Blah... EVERY other person in my classes were always some variation of Christine. In one of my college classes there were half a dozen girls with the same sounding name... and there was only 30 or so people in the room! We had to split up names (Tina, Christine, Kristen, Kristy, Chrissy, Chris) so the prof wouldn't get us all confused.

And what's so hard about Christy? NO one ever spells it right. I've seen it spelled dozens of different ways. Don't even get into my last name... people say it sounds like a german pastry. It's really not THAT hard, compared to some names I've seen. Schubkegel. Shoob-kay-gull. See? Easy.

I always wanted a unique name. Christine Ann? Blah. Now, one of my German teachers called me Christiana. I liked that.

And Christy really isn't so bad, but I hate being called Christine. Or Chrissy. Only elderly people with Germanic accents get to call me Chrissy. Because it only sounds cool with that roll of the tongue. Otherwise I sound about five years old.

If I'm called Christine I'm all like " - I DIDN'T DO IT!" *giggles*

If I had kids, I'd wind up giving them unique names. Something so they wouldn't have to look up every other second because someone nearby had the same name as they did. It gets annoying.

Hey... but if I was a boy, my grandfather wanted me to be named George III... umm, no thanks. No "junior" for me!

Hehe... I like your name, too, guppylove... unique enough to be fun. I just don't understand why Christy is so hard. I mean, Christine is probably the most common spelling of the name. Therefore, the most common spellings of the shortened version should be Christy or Christie, right? Makes sense to me. *shrugs*

It's just odd when people try to spell my name like yours... where on EARTH did they come up with Krysti? People like to spell my name with a K... it's just odd. Christine = "devoted follower of Christ" or something like that. Not Kryst.

I'm not a big fan of my name, but I would never change it because my parents gave it to me, and to change it seems almost disrespectful.
My first name is Brandi, and EVERYONE at one point or another has spelled it with a "y". As some of you from chat know, that irks me to no end LoL.
My middle name is Renee'...I love that name and think it's very pretty. Everyone leaves off the accent though...it's there for a reason, put it there!!! Grrr...
Bradshaw is my last name, and I guess it's okay. I don't know. I get the inevitable, "Are you related to Terry Bradshaw?" by dumb people all the time. Oye! LoL.
When I have kids, they are going to have cool names. I already have them picked out

My name is fine it doesn't bother me. When I named my daughter, who has a greek last name, I chose something simple which wouldn't be a tongue twister. Advice... when naming your child, go to the backdoor and bellow the full name two or three times...cause you will be yelling it for years.

I guess I like my name...

It isn't too unusual and yet no one knows how to spell it.

I've gotten thing like "Natile", "Natilie", and "Nataly", among other things.

I think it's French for "Christmas Day" or something to do with Christmas. My middle name, Marie, is also French. My last name, however, is Scottish.
