I do not like my name at all -- which is one nice thing about the internet -- you can go by any name you wish. I will eventually change my name, but that will occur after the parents have passed.

I like my name. Both my first and last names are unusual, so I know there's nobody else in the world who shares it (That also makes it easily searchable which is why I don't use it here )

My name is also special because my Dad named me after a place that was special to him. He said it was a beautiful, peaceful place. So my name gives me an extra connection to my Dad.

Both my first and last name are extremely hard to spell and ounce. And of course I hate it

You don't get to have everything in life and should I ever move to central america to furthur the fish hobby, then my last name will be more commonplace.

Dont move koi! We need u! and if u come back here and start habloing in spanish i'll only understand the basics. Since u participate in thought provoking conversations, it would no longer provoke thought. I like my name. When I turn premie im changing it to my name.

I like mine except people generally trash the spelling I like it ounced with 3 syllables, ter-ee-sa, rather than 2 (tree-sa).

Cory Addict-my youngest daughter is Natalie, I love the name although we tend to call her Natty.

RoboFish-my husband's name is Daniel although he's generally called Dan or Dan-o by me

My maiden name was very Polish...my sister & I both married guys with common last names, one extreme to the other. My married name now is a bit unusual, ounced just like it's spelled but people still make a mess of it ]:|

A thread elsewhere on this site prompts me to ask about names (the name you go by as given by your parents who raised you, not your screen name).

Is yours unusual? Maybe you get sick of spelling it and unciation lessons.

Maybe you like that your name is one people can recognise immediately and ounce.

Have you changed your name (first name not last name)?

Do you like your name?

Did you hate your name as a kid but grow into liking it?

For people with children, how has your experience with your own name influenced how you name your children?

My official name is rather long and I sound like a high school (hence the name that I have at the end of my sig, that happened one day in chat when they were trying to guess my name). I prefer my nickname, Billy, which most everyone knows me by, and I have...ummm...12 or so nicknames that I'm called by friends and my mom (my mom calls me Duece from the fact that I always was the number 2 in baseball, and she STILL calls me that EVERY TIME she says anything to me, etc.).

As for changing my name, I'll never change mine, but name's I like are reflected in my writings and one day, my child/children will be stuck with names I'm sure they'll hate, but we'll see when we get there

Heck, I may just name one Duece

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

what's the big deal about writing out your real name ( maybe not last name) in this forum?? i mean it's just your name. i don't care, i'm just asking cuz after reading a couple of posts, they say stuff like " my name is strange it's not common, i like it a lot!" and then they don't tell us what it is... that's just SUPER!!!]:|
my name is Tijana (tee-yah-nah) miladinovic (mee-lah-dee-no-which)

u think your name's get butchered, ha! you don't know what butchered is!!!!!

i go by tiki, cuz that's what my mom&dad called me when i was lil, and tikilino (but that's too childish, like " hey lady change tikilino's dipers!" hahahaaa, so anyway i hated the nick tiki when i was lil, but then when my parents died i would tell ppl that my REAL name is tiki, and ever since then that's what most people call me.
as for my real name tijana, it's very uncommon here in the states, but in Yugoslavia (where i'm originally from) it's as common as the name Nizhoni is here ( ok ok it's not that common over there either, but in russia there's a couple of tijanas, i'm sure of that! ha ha haaaaa and couple of them in greece too. my last name, i luv it, i wouldn't change it EVER!!! i think it makes me sound like a character off of sopranos " that miladinovic is back from the balkans, he's been asking about you tony" oooh yeah! MILADINOVIC sends chills down my spine and it's MY last name, imagine what it does to others! hahah

i'll shut up now. as u can see my name doesn't really fit me, other then being strange, it's way too serious so tiki's just dandy!

My name is Monica Naomi Ortega. I love it (mostly).

Of course, After the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky thing, my name became a horrible moniker. That's where/why I came up with my nickname of ~*MO*~

To this day, and to my immense annoyance, some jerks still ask if my last name is Lewinsky.....]:|]:|

I LOVE My middle name because I was named after my Grandmother, who died when my dad was 8. I hear stories about her, and everyone tells me I have the same personality as her...she's my hero.

And I love my last name because it's Mexican, and I'm proud of my heritage ^_^.

I love my entire name though, becauase it's all Latin/Hispanic, and when I say it(with the accents and all), it's just beautiful!

My last name gets butchered reasonably well on a regular basis, but I like my name overall...I go by my third given name (an ironic choice, actually), because the parent and grandparent, the namesakes my first two came from, ere still alive when I was born, and my mother did not want me getting the 'Jr.' or 'small' monikers.

I like my name, but it seems inevitable that at some point everyone I meet calls me "Rachel" (my name's actually and always has been Rebeccca). It's gotten to where I anticipate and sometimes answer to Rachel. I actually had an ice skating instructor who never found out my name was Rebecca...
