Love my paradise fish

I had wanted one for a looooong time. My first did a fatal jump the second just didn't make it after two days in a QT

But this guy is great, a wonderful personality and definitely a 'pet' fish.

I love my betta.

I think as a "pet" fish if I were to have one I would go with one of the new blue jack dempseys. They're really pretty!

One of my bettas, Lucutas, is kept in his own tank... Very personable. I like the ones in the other tanks, but this one is the most active and interesting!

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

fahaka puffer or a mbu puffer

stingrays are beautiful fish shini ..... to bad they grow big and need alot of TLC

As if the mbu doesn't need just as large a tank as a stingray.

I love my Oscar. He always comes over to me when I am at the tank. He has bitten me before though.

What's everyone's favorite pet fish? By this I mean a fish housed alone in a tank and kept as a fish to interact with, not as a breeding individual or a decorative addition. Oscars are very very common pet fish, but other fairly common ones include Volitans Lionfish, goldfish, Giant Gouramis, and Red-Tail Catfish (as you can see these are largely biiiig fish, but small ones are not excluded - I think we can all agree that bettas are the most common pet fish!)

So: favorite pet fish, and (if it's not the same) the one you plan to/wish you could keep.

For me it's the Picasso Triggerfish - I'd like to set up a 180 with a 100 gallon sump (to hold the live rock) and the top an old-style art-decoish FO look, a few big fake corals but the fish would be the real decor.

A porcupine puffer is the ultimate "pet fish". They are so interactive... Too bad they get huge.

Stingrays. They can be active and interactive fish. You can pet them, feed them by hand, and they're way cooler than cichlids. Too bad they're so difficult. :%)
