okay...well some of you may know of my monster little host brother, but yesterday during my last restaurant dinner with my family he won my heart.



Thomas has a little crush on a girl in his class, but he didn't want his dad to know about it 'cause then he would tease him. So kept talking to me about stuff having to do with "l'amour" while trying to keep it a secret from his dad who was sitting just across the table.

We get home and Thomas calls me to his room. we hide in the corner of his room and he brings out a picture he colored with writing around it. since i haave trouble reading his writing he read the letter out loud to me... it was a LOVE letter to a girl in his class. he spoke about "the first time he saw her", and "if he can't have her he will be sad". it was too cute! i mean, and this is a 9 year old BOY we're talking about! i commented to him on how smart he was and that how girls really appreciate the RARE amount of men like him.

he then continued to explain to me that all the boys in his class just go up to girls and ask "est-ce que tu m'aime?" (do you love me?). he had the greatest facial expression and voice tone when he denounced this type of approach. he compared it to when girls come up to guys and ask them directly if they're pretty. he explained to me that he hates girls who prance around thinking they are the best and care too much about thier clothes...i couldn't believe i was talking to the same Thomas...he's the cutest, if he could only learn to treat the cat like he does girls...

...and you guys out their should try to get some lessons on wooing from him!!!

if girls were so appreciative of boys writing them love letters like this, i would have had much more luck with the few i wrote still, i guess it is a kinda cute story...

One of my 3rd grade boys got his first kiss over the Christmas Holidays...all of the kids had to tell me about it...He and the little girl kept trying to hide it from me...but hey a teacher hears everything!!! I find it cute...

And Moony, I think girls DO appreciate love letters. I don't think there's any way to say no to a guy if they write you a nice love letter or something.

Well, I guess it depends on the letter. Once I got one from a guy at a school dance. It was written on the back of a library receipt. He said "Dear Janet" then crossed that out. My name is Janna! It went on with more barely legible blather. Needless to say, I rejected it.
